Our Newest Series, ‘Working Out With‘ gives us a chance to learn about mind-body balance from the people who do it daily – as in, it’s their actual profession.

Yogi, podcast host and author Kathryn Budig has practiced yoga since she was a kid, but it wasn’t until after bouncing back from a few yoga-related injuries, a divorce and some deep reflection that Kathryn truly found her passion and her purpose: giving the grounding and healing gift of yoga to others. Or, as the title of her latest book notes, to help her students “aim true.”

Kathryn’s mission reaches well beyond studio walls with her latest endeavor as a featured chef and instructor on YogaGlo. The essential online meditation, nutrition and yoga app offers thousands of classes and recipes, including over 170 yoga classes from Kathryn and at-home cooking tutorials inspired by her mantra to fuel yourself through nourishing, seasonal, and high-quality foods. Discover the app here, then get to know Kathryn Budig just a bit better below…

GO-TO WORKOUT:

A home practice with YogaGlo, Pure Barre and Method.

FITNESS TREND I LOVE:

Fitness is a daily part of my life. I don’t really gravitate towards fitness trends.

FITNESS TREND I WISH WOULD END:

People subscribing to strict diets. I’m a big proponent of having people be more in tune to what their bodies need.

FITNESS UNIFORM:

Kira Grace leggings and rock-and-roll T-shirts.

3 THINGS THAT ARE ALWAYS IN MY GYM BAG:

A reusable water bottle, skid-less socks and Vapour natural deodorant.

FAVORITE STUDIOS:

Pure Barre and Method.

POST-WORKOUT FUEL:

I make these amazing quinoa egg power bites that are perfect for a post-workout pick me up – they are made of quinoa, eggs, hot sauce and more!

FAVORITE TRAINERS/SNEAKERS:

Most of my workouts don’t require shoes, but I love wearing Golden Goose sneakers.

SUPPLEMENTS I LOVE FOR FITNESS GOALS:

WHERE I FIND FITSPIRATION:

I find inspiration in my fiancé, my best friends and my dogs.

BEST FITNESS TIP EVER:

Get your workout done before noon. If I don’t get to my workout earlier in the day, the likelihood of me doing it gets smaller as the day goes on.

CURRENT MANTRA:

Find success from your happiness instead of happiness from your success.
