Pressed Juicery is always pushing the envelope when it comes to defining what it means to go green. First, they brought a rainbow of fresh-pressed juice flavors to the masses up and down the California coast. Then, they whipped up Freeze, the first ever juice-based alternative for froyo lovers. And lest we forget, their revolutionary “juicing bible,” JUICE: Recipes For Juicing, Cleansing and Living Well hits bookshelves this July, divulging all the Pressed recipes you’ve grown to love…plus some new concoctions that are sure to make their way onto your daily menu. Even with this track record of forward-thinking ways, we were wide eyed when we learned about Pressed’s newest limited edition juices for the summer season: one with rhubarb and a tart raspberry twist, and the other a clean green dream with a jalapeño kick!
Raspberry, Rhubarb, Watermelon, Strawberry, Pineapple is quite possibly the prettiest juice we’ve ever seen, thanks to the bright hues of these antioxidant-packed sweet summer produce picks. The only thing better than the pretty ruby color of this juice is the flavor – it tastes like summer in a bottle!
Next up is our newest green juice: Kale, Romaine, Spinach, Yuzu, Pink Lady Apple, Cucumber, Jalapeno. Yep, yuzu and jalapeño. We love this exotic spin on our ever-so-popular Greens varieties – we think it tastes like a Greens 2 with a kick! Packed with vitamin C from the East Asian yuzu fruit and instantly energizing thanks to the jalapeño finish, we’ll definitely be sipping this one poolside as the temperatures start to rise.
Here’s what you need to know about these two innovative, limited-time-only bottles of goodness – and why you need them in your fridge ASAP:
Raspberry, Rhubarb, Watermelon, Strawberry, Pineapple
Raspberry
These delicate, bright summer berries are some of the most antioxidant-filled fruits you can find. Just one serving offers up about half your daily allotment of vitamin C and manganese, are anti-inflammatory, and are said to be chemoprotective…making them cancer’s worst enemy.
Rhubarb
This fruit (yes, fruit – even though it looks like a celery stalk!) is known for its presence in jams, jellies, and pies – but did you know it’s also a great source of calcium, lutein, and vitamin K? Tart rhubarb keeps your bones, eyes, and blood healthy, making it a key player in your wellness journey.
Watermelon
Juicy watermelon owes its red hue to lycopene, which travels neutralizes free radicals. Watermelon also contains heaps of vitamin C and beta-carotene, and is rich in the B vitamins necessary for energy production.
Strawberry
They’re tiny, but they pack quite a nutritional punch. A classic summertime treat, strawberries contain phytonutrients and antioxidants such as vitamin C, which help protect the body’s cell structures and fight oxidative reactions.
Pineapple
This tropical fave is fantastic for digestion, thanks to its bromelian content, which helps break down proteins. Pineapple is also a source of manganese, thiamine and vitamin C.
Kale, Romaine, Spinach, Yuzu, Pink Lady Apple, Cucumber, Jalapeno
Kale
Kale’s celeb status as one of the healthiest veggies on the planet is for good reason. Just one cup of kale contains about 100% of your daily requirements for vitamins A, C and K, providing anti-inflammatory benefits as well as phenomenal cardiovascular support. It is also rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, which promote healthy eyesight.
Romaine
Not all lettuce is created equal, and romaine is definitely at the front of the pack. Romaine’s vitamin C and beta-carotene, and folic acid make it a heart-healthy green that keeps cholesterol and blood vessel damage at bay. Plus, a whopping 20% of its calories are pure, complete protein. Who knew?!
Spinach
Spinach is jam-packed with nutrients from a to z! Most notably, the vitamin K in spinach is essential to maintaining healthy, strong bones, and the flavonoids and antioxidants found in spinach have been shown to help combat many cancers – including breast, prostate and ovarian cancer. Its also contains impressive amounts of minerals like potassium, manganese, magnesium, copper and zinc to keep cells nourished and blood pressure stable.
Yuzu
Yuzu is a citrus fruit originating in East Asia, but the rest of the world is quickly catching onto its zingy benefits! It has three times more vitamin C than a lemon, making this juice a great immunity booster!
Pink Lady Apple
You know what they say about an apple a day! Apples provide antioxidant vitamin C and a good dose of soluble fiber. And in the case of this season’s concoction, can provide a nice hint of sweetness to an otherwise “green” tasting sip!
Cucumber
Cucumber has significant water content and aids in kidney, liver, and pancreatic function. This popular veggie is hydrating and cooling, and helps temper the jalapeno kick in this seasonal sip.
Jalapeño
What makes jalapenos so spicy? Capsaicin. This compound can aid weight loss efforts, and is often used for pain relief in alternative medicine. Jalapenos are also one of the richest sources of vitamin A and C, and add a pleasant kick to this slightly sweet juice!
These seasonal juices are available for a limited time only, while supplies last in-store and on pressedjuicery.com. Happy sipping!
