Don’t tell the rosé, but there’s a new pretty pink drink in town and we’re smitten, to say the least. This refreshing rum cocktail made its debut at our recent Malibu beach party celebrating Pressed Juicery‘s new summer flavor – a hydrating mix of watermelon, tart cherry, jicama, lemon and mint – and now we can’t imagine a balmy summer Saturday without one nearby.
Cold-pressed juices make way better cocktail mixers than than soda or sweet and sour. Take a glass poolside or pass an icy pitcher around at your next backyard BBQ. Watermelon, mint and jicama pair perfectly with light and fruity white rum – we love it paired with these summery watermelon and tuna poke bowls from our event!
The Watermelon Mint + Jicama Cocktail
Ingredients:
1/2 bottle Pressed Juicery’s watermelon tart cherry juice
1 shot SelvaRey white rum
1/2 tsp organic cane syrup
fresh cherries to garnish
fresh mint to garnish
ice
Directions:
Combine the juice, rum and cane syrup in a chilled two-piece cocktail shaker. Add a scoop of ice. Using a back and forth motion, shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. Pour the mixture into a serving glass with more ice. Garnish with mint and a fresh cherry.
For a mojito-style twist, muddle a few fresh mint leaves inside the shaker before adding the other ingredients.
