Although squats aren’t sophisticated or grand, the perfect squat is the most multitasking of exercises when it comes to total body transformation. Squats utilize more muscle groups than almost any other weight-bearing exercise out there, sculpt an admirable backside, and stabilize our bodies so we can walk tall and proud!
Since it’s the little changes that make the biggest differences, here is how to perform a perfect squat like a pro. Bang out as many sets as you can, work slowly, and get ready for the compliments to roll right in!
The perfect squat in 2 steps:
- Step One
Stand with your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart, back straight, shoulders down, toes pointed slightly out.
- Step Two
Keeping your back straight, lower your body down and back as if you are sitting down into a chair, until your thighs are parallel to the ground (or as close to parallel as possible). Make sure your knees do not pass over your toes, and keeps your abs tightly activated to ensure a straight spine. Rise back up slowly. Repeat!
