  • HATCH's Ariane loves her heels and so do we!

Generally speaking, being a bridesmaid and a mom-to-be are not usually the most stylish times in a woman’s life, but that certainly wasn’t the case for Ariane Goldman. After she created Two Birds, an adorable line of bridesmaid dresses that any maid would be honored to wear, this designing women gave birth to Hatch Collection. Inspired by the staples she wore again and again during her first pregnancy, Ariane—who gravitated more towards fashion forward brands like Acne as opposed to your traditional bun-in-the-oven gear—designed a line of beautifully draped dresses, tops and bottoms that were easy, elegant and comfortable while still being chic. In short, she’s built the perfect line of maternity clothes that you’ll be wearing long after your nine months are up.

We were so inspired by Ariane’s fresh take on style and motherhood, we had to asked this mom-of-one for a few of her top picks for a very stylish summer:

Best outfit for a summer night:
“I’m currently loving the HATCH Soiree Dress with my Chloe wedges. It’s casual but chic and an easy way to feel comfortable and stylish at the same time!”

Favorite way to cover-up at the beach:
“I love Lemlem’s sheer striped caftans. They are so light and breathe so well plus the stripes scream style.”

    Weekend style staple:
“My Baggu grapefruit leather tote. It’s soft and malleable and I can throw everything in it!”

Shoe you wore all through your pregnancy:
No. 6 clogs!!” [Ed note: We also love their clog boots—super comfy and stylish, to boot!]

Toy you won’t leave home without:
“Sadly, the iPad for Elmo Apps!”

    Diaper bag of choice:
    “I love Clare Vivier’s carrier.”

    Diaper bag essential:
    “Baby Wipes!”

    Stretch mark skin saver:
“I swear by Clarins Body Oil for the belly…”

    Best pregnancy fashion tip:
“Rock heels as long as you can!”

    4. I love Hatch Collection and would love to win an outfit!

My pregnancy style tip is to stay true to your style and don’t feel like you have to look frumpy just because you are pregnant or wear clothes that you would never wear pre-pregnancy. I just did not like maternity clothes, so I tried to shop at the same shops I always shopped at when I wasn’t pregnant and just bought bigger sizes or looser styles that would work with my growing belly. Maxi dresses and flowy shirts are so popular now and are ideal for pregnant bellies. Pregnancy is such a beautiful time, so your style should be too! That’s why I love Hatch because the clothes are so stylish and you can wear them after your pregnancy so you aren’t wasting money on something you can just wear for a few months.

    5. I’m not even pregnant yet, but I’ve been thinking a LOT about pregnancy style as we await the arrival our little one in my womb and in our world. My pregnancy style tip is to put together a vibrant capsule wardrobe that’s stylish and full of color so that your pregnancy is a celebration and not a somber, all black affair. I recommend buying a handful of really great dresses in solid colors, and pairing them with bold statement jewelry (cuffs, stacks of bangles, a chunky necklace). Add a great wardrobe of shoes: flats for when you want or need them, a great low-heeled comfy and super stylish shoe or boot for day, and a great-looking pair of heels that are comfy to wear and that have a little heft to the heel. To that I’d add one pair of skinny jeans and a couple of flowy, stylish blouses (but not so long that they look frumpy), plus a couple pair of leggings, and some tunics. If it’s a little cool, pair them with your dresses, legging or skinny jeans for lounging around or doing the grocery run.

    7. I’d love to win some Hatch goodness!

I’m 6 months pregnant and my style tip is to embrace my changing shape and work with it, rather than trying to hide my growing belly. So I love belting a flowy dress (either above or below the abdomen) to add some curves instead of looking like I’m wearing a tent!

For work, I also love pairing maxi dresses with a tailored, shorter blazer or a flowy cardigan. It’s feminine, comfortable and great for chilly air-conditioned offices 🙂

    8. My sister is a mom and always buy clothes for her baby before her. I would love for her to win this! Her pregnancy style is a lot of blouses and dresses.

    9. I didn’t get one stretch mark ( thankfully ) and I truly believe it is because I religiously slathered on oil on my belly. Hatch has some BEAUTIFUL stuff- would love it all 🙂

    10. For me, it’s all about beautiful fabric. There is nothing so sensual or so comforting as wrapping myself in a cashmere cardigan, or slipping on a pair of rayon slacks. It allows me to be aware of but never self-conscious of my growing body, and gives me the freedom to basque in my femininity and motherhood without being distracted by uncomfortable or unflattering clothing. This is what I love most about the HATCH Collection. The drape and feel of their fabrics (especially the silk Button Down) makes you feel like you get a little kiss on your skin every time you move. Is there anything more delightful?

    12. I’m 20 weeks along, and was so excited to finally have a reason to shop Hatch. I bought the dinner party dress for an upcoming wedding, but I’m already wearing it this week… I can’t help it. Best tip: Keep your pre-pregnancy style, but embrace the bump!

    13. I was wondering where I might find the heels that are on picture number 8. The black and turquoise combo is gorgeous!

    14. I see this site as being about wellness. Why then would you advocate wearing heels well into your pregnancy? Why would you advocate wearing any heel that will, over time, damage your feet beyond repair?
