I have become addicted to having a fresh juice in the morning. Whether you buy something from Pressed Juicery on your way to work or make your own at home, supplying your body with a high level of quality nutrition at the beginning of every day can only be a good thing. I use the Champion Juicer and love it. Here are a few of my go-to combinations.
Robin’s Favorite Juice
- 1 bunch kale
- 1 bunch celery
- 1 whole lemon
- 1-2 fuji apples
- 1 inch piece of ginger
Barrett’s Breakfast Juice
- 3 stalks celery
- 4 carrots
- 1 apple or 1 orange, cored
- 2 inch piece of ginger
- 1 cucumber
- 1 beet
- 1 lemon
- Bunch of parsley or mint
Can you recommend a juicer? There are so many options out there, I wondered what your recommendation was. Thank you very much.
nicole she states that she uses a champion juicer, but the kind of juicer you want depends on so many factors – what you plan on juicing (fruits vs leafy greens vs wheat grass), how much you are willing to spend, and if you are ok with a more extensive clean up. explaining all the specifics would take far too long on here, but there is a website called “Discount Juicers” that explains all the specifics about juicers, and they also have a YouTube page with a (highly) energetic guy demonstrating and comparing the juicers. I found it extremely helpful when trying to decide. Their prices are also really good, too. I have had the Omega VRT for the last 2 years and couldn’t be happier. I choose it because it can do fruits AND leafy greens (most centrifugal juicers can not), as well as whole pomegranates and cherries. You can switch the screen out and make nut butters. Some people complain about the clean up, but I don’t find it that bad as it has a self cleaning mechanism (you pour clean water through the spout when your done and it does half the work).
The juicers I would avoid: anything cheapy. It’s not going to last or give you high quality juice. I am also not a fan of the Breville juicers. They look nice but the quality is lacking. Plus they can get really hot and destroy some of the good stuff in the juice ( a caution for all centrifugal juicers).
Good luck choosing a juicer!
