lipstick for spring

Spring has sprung. And, lately, we’re manifesting all things spring with light creamy clothing, nearly nude skin and a bold, flower-hued lip as the ultimate seasonal accessory. We asked celeb-adored green beauty guru, Katey Denno, to dish on her natural picks for spring lip color perfection. We’ll take one of each…

Nothing says welcome to spring like adding a pop of color to your lips. Last season we saw nudes dominating the market, and while that perfect non-color color that complements your skin tone isn’t going anywhere, it doesn’t hold a candle to how the right pop of a springtime-infused lip color makes you feel. It brightens your face and your mood. Here are a few of my favorites…

Amazed by Kjaer Weis | I love the sheer formula of the Lip Tints because they’re so easy to use. You don’t necessarily need a mirror to apply, but you’ll want to take a peek in the beautiful mirrored packaging! Amazed is such a fun and wearable sheer lilac, which complements so many skin tones, from the palest beauty with green eyes, to those with deep tan, golden complexions. CHECK OUT

Pink Kashmir by ILIA | Pink Kashmir, a cool electric pink, is spring in a tube. This semi-matte finish color is hydrating and non-drying and looks incredible on women of all skin tones who want a bold shock of color on their pout. Wear it casually during the day with a white spring dress, or pair it with your favorite LBD for a night out. CHECK OUT

Apple by Juice Beauty | Juice Beauty has done gloss right with their Phyto-Pigments Liquid Lip. It’s a highly pigmented liquid lipstick with the strength of a stain and the hydration of a gloss. For spring, their bold shade called Apple is a super fun hot pink that can be dabbed on with a light touch for a hint of color, or applied more thoroughly for some serious intensity. CHECK OUT

Forever Peach by Jane Iredale | These are fun in that they react with your body’s pH level to create a unique shade, just for you, and impart the perfect splash of color. Forever Peach is a favorite – it really does look great on countless skin tones and it can be layered on top of another shade to add extra moisture and shine. CHECK OUT

Love Ache by Ritual De Fille | Ritual De Fille blended intense pigment into a sheer translucent texture for their Enchanted Lip Sheers. I love the classic feminine red they call Love Ache for its ability to dress up any outfit. It’s one of those reds, though, that won’t require five minutes in a mirror or a couple of q-tips to make the edges perfect. It’s sheer, but buildable, and looks great even when applied haphazardly. CHECK OUT
