Venice hotspot Gran Blanco has expanded their non-alcoholic craft cocktail menu just in time for Dry – or even Damp – January. As an early adopter of n/a spirits as part of their cocktail offerings, we turned to the easy-to-love L.A. bar-restaurant for a no ABV margarita recipe we could lean on this month and they delivered.
Made with botanical spirits brand Optimist’s “Smokey” expression, this simple beverage is drenched in hydarting citrus and will give you that smoky, sour sip you crave while on your best behavior.We love the simplicity and the sugar can scale up or down to your preference.

Beverage Director Andy Miller (formerly of Tabula Rasa) just added a few new non-alcoholic drinks to the menu including the Sunrise Spritz with Optimist Cali Amaro and the Free Spirits Negroni showcasing Free Spirits alcohol-free Gin and Vermouth Rosso with bitters and grapefruit.
Gran Blanco’s Optimist No ABV Margarita
Ingredients:
1oz Optimist Smokey
0.75 lemon
0.75 lime
0.5oz agave
Shake and serve in a Collins glass rimmed with Tajin. Top with a splash of sparkling water and serve with a dehydrated lime wheel.
