What’s not to love about Meghan Markle? Elegant and philanthropic, this royal-to-be is also a California native with TCM-approved wellness practices to prove it. We interviewed the former actress for our ‘Living Well With’ series a few years back — check out the full story here — and she shared not one, but two delicious and nutritionally balanced smoothie recipes fit for a (wellness) queen.
Meghan’s daily smoothie recipe is simple in all the right ways: all it takes is a few whole food ingredients that give you a nutritional bang for your buck (and are probably already in your kitchen). Clean protein powder provides energy, chia seeds offer more protein, fiber and essential omega 3s, blueberries bring on the antioxidants, cinnamon squelches inflammation and coconut water helps us hydrate deeply.
According to Meghan, sometimes she likes to mix the smoothie recipe up by using “frozen mango, a squeeze of lime, I swap the cinnamon for turmeric (which has unbelievable healing properties!) and just use coconut water”. Try the smoothie both ways and report back if you achieve Meghan-like energy levels!
Meghan Markle’s Daily Smoothie – Two Ways
1 packet of your shake powder of choice (I use Clean Cleanse vanilla)
½ cup of frozen blueberries
1 tsp of cinnamon
some chia seeds
½ cup almond milk
½ cup of coconut water
Blend together and enjoy!
