10.1.15

Whether in New York or L.A, we’re always on the hunt for new things for you to eat. You’re welcome! This month, we stumbled across three cool dishes in L.A. that we highly recommend, two of which are dream collaborations we couldn’t wait to taste…

Sweetgreen + Jon & Vinny’s Za’atar
Having trouble landing a reservation at L.A.’s favorite new Italian joint? Have no fear. Sweetgreen is collaborating with the little hotspot everyone’s swooning over, Jon & Vinny, combining their culinary talents for a Za’atar salad that will knock your socks off. The collaboration is around for a limited time only, so get in there and try it! All Sweetgreen’s ingredients are sourced from local farms.

Sweetfin Poke + Santa Monica Farmer’s Market bowl
Another collaboration of sorts that we absolutely love is Sweetfin‘s new farmer’s market bowl. Only available on Wednesday and Sundays when the farmer’s market is open, the chefs at Sweetfin are hitting the streets in the wee hours of the morning to source whatever is fresh and bring it in to a special bowl recipe each week. The bowl we tried showcased seasonal mouse melons, shishito peppers, and fennel, along with their classic salmon poke and kelp noodles. Try the farmer’s market bowl on a Sunday – we’re guessing the famously long line may be a little shorter on the weekends!

Lifefood Organics Raw Pizza
Possibly the only thing we ate this month that wasn’t served in a bowl, LifeFood Organics‘ raw pizza is what our modern California dreams are made of. Definitely a major leap from a classic New York pie, don’t get us wrong – but this raw almond-meal crust piled with layers of grilled veggies and delicious raw creamy sauce is a mus- try for the healthy girl who is also a pizza addict. While you’re there, try one of their hard-core smoothies that are packed with ingredients from jing protein to manuka honey and edible gold leaf!
