how to make Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner

Spring cleaning takes on a whole new meaning when we look at un-dirtying the cleaning products themselves. It may be tempting to run to the chemical-laden tried-and-trues to get a deep clean, but most of what we need to keep our homes fresh can be found in the pantry or fridge.

The ladies behind CAP Beauty know a thing or two about lightening our daily toxic load. “Like with our beauty products, we don’t focus on the danger of the ingredients in conventional products, but on the power of plants, minerals and Mother Nature.”

Here are simple recipes for two types of cleaners below.

All-Purpose Cleaner
This is our favorite cleaner to keep in the cupboard for a healthy, high vibrational clean. Make a batch of this to have on hand and your home will be shining all the time.

16 oz hydrogen peroxide
⅛ tsp mint essential oil

Combine the ingredients in a glass spray bottle, shake to combine and use.

Glass Cleaner
This simple yet effective cleaner has been used by even the most accomplished cleaners since the beginning of time. As simple as it gets.

2 cups filtered water
2 Tbsp vinegar
1 tsp lavender essential oil

Combine all ingredients in a glass spray bottle, shake to combine and use.

  1. So excited that there is more and more awareness and education about making safer and simpler products, in all areas. One quick thing: hydrogen peroxide can damage the sealant used on granite countertops. So, I would use as a stain remover on these surfaces; but not as a daily all purpose cleaner.
