Masks made from breakfast ingredients. Coffee shop sugar packets for an impromptu facial. Coconut oil for literally everything else. We’re not sure how our survival skills would fare in the wilderness, but when it comes to beauty on-the-go our crew can get gorgeous with next to nothing.

Green beauty pros have minimalist makeup skills, obviously, but what about when there’s no time to touch up and no RMS in sight?

While peeking through the routines of a few of our favorites, we asked them to spill their secrets for beautifying in a pinch; their creative solutions didn’t disappoint. Whether you’re low on product, traveling light, or just looking for a little brightness halfway through a long day, these tips will get you there…

Kristen Kjaer Weis

Kristen Kjaer Weis, Kjaer Weis | I’ll make myself look refreshed if I feel tired by adding a cream blush to the apples of my cheeks. I love a rosy-hued shade like Blossoming Cream Blush.

Jenna Levine

Jenna Levine, LINNÉ Botanicals | Use olive oil from the kitchen as body oil, if I’m traveling without body oil, balm or lotion.

Alison Carroll

Alison Carroll, Wonder Valley | Apply a toner spray or hydrating mist (a great staple for desert living). I love Living Libation’s Rose Glow Complexion Mist, which I found through CAP Beauty.

Alexis Wolfer, The Beauty Bean | Exfoliate my face with a packet of white sugar swiped from a local coffee shop.

Cara Oates

Carla Oates, The Beauty Chef | Whip up a green smoothie! I could write a book about why green smoothies are great for your body, especially when detoxing. I’d recommend a blender like the Vitamix, which gives you a concentrated nutrient hit with all the cleansing fiber of the fruit and veggies. Fiber is great for helping to clear out the digestive system and bowels while also feeding beneficial bacteria in the gut, and, as I always say, beauty begins in the belly.

Fiona Stiles

Fiona Stiles, Fiona Stiles Beauty |  Count to ten and try to calm my body down. Stress is a killer so I try to keep calm and get through the day without raising my heart rate unnecessarily.

Shiva Rose

Shiva Rose, The Local RoseBurn sage. Use coconut oil for everything.

Suzanne LeRoux, One Love Organics | Use Skin Savior as a deodorant. We call it the duct tape of our travel kit. Our family has used it for pretty much everything!

Katey Denno, celebrity makeup artistI use my face oil in my hair, and on my nails and cuticles.

Joanna Vargas, Joanna Vargas SkincareUse ingredients from the kitchen as a mask. I like yogurt, honey and fruits!
