When we say “dessert first” we mean, like, before morning coffee. While none of these dessert-inspired, fruitless smoothies actually contain pie, they’re the next best thing to having dessert for breakfast — with a ton of health benefits to boot.
If your nutrition struggle has everything to do with coffee shop pastries and other sugary breakfast bombs, these smoothie recipes might be the best thing to happen to you all summer.
We first ran these delicious recipes from smoothie scientist, Kelly LeVeque a few years ago, but since Kelly has recently launched her own protein powders we thought we’d update these recipes and bring them back to the top of your in-box!
Each smoothie recipe below uses Kelly’s Fab Four principle: include clean protein, good fat, fiber and greens with every meal. The Fab Four is designed to keep blood sugar stable and any rogue cravings at bay. Kelly’s celeb clients, from Jessica Alba to Molly Sims, rely on just this kind of smoothie recipe to stay committed to their wellness goals and we’re trying one recipe a week til we’ve found our fave…
