Ariel Kaye’s big idea began as so many good ideas do: with a good night’s sleep. After a blissful night wrapped in perfect Italian bedding on a trip to the Amalfi Coast, Parachute Home founder, Ariel Kaye decided to make it her mission to bring this luxurious and restful experience to the rest of us here at home.

The idea of offering top notch Italian bedding to the masses might not sound ground-breaking at first glance, that is until you view the price tag: a little over two hundred dollars for a full set of artisan-made Italian bedding.

We’re loving Parachute’s clean, well-styled vibe, envelope closure pillowcases, and topless lifestyle — Ariel urges everyone to consider foregoing their top sheet for a little chic, Euro-style uplift!

We joined Ariel for a chat about morning rituals and breakfast in bed must-haves in a little twist on our usual Mornings With… feature. For the ultimate breakfast in bed experience, check out the Summerland Mother’s Day Breakfast Box below which comes complete with a Parachute Home bedding discount – heaven!

My alarm is set for…

6:30 a.m. I like to start my day with a 7 a.m. workout.

First thing I do when I wake up is…

Check my email.

Breakfast is normally…

I skip breakfast during the week, but brunch is a favorite weekend activity.

Favorite morning beverage is…

Green juice. I’m not a big coffee drinker and when I do have a cup, it’s in the afternoon.

My morning is filled with…

Meetings with the Parachute team.

Daily uniform…

Dress, booties, jacket – ever since I moved back from NYC, I’ve embraced the sunshine and stopped wearing pants.

I’m usually listening to…

The LCD Soundsystem Pandora station in the car, and Stevie Wonder in the office.

I start working by…

I’m always working. I typically start the moment I wake up.

I get my creative juices flowing by…

Taking a walk on the beach.

I start thinking about lunch at…

11 a.m.

Fave breakfast in bed…

Veggie scramble and fresh fruit.

Bedding musts…

Parachute sheets (of course!), an assortment of decorative pillows (there can never be too many), and a great bedside lamp.

Making-the-bed tip…

Stick to the basics with a fitted sheet and duvet. Skip the top sheet! It inevitably ends up tangled at the foot of the bed in the morning.

  1. Hello, I am reading the article “Breakfast in Bed with Parachute Homes Ariel Kaye” and the cover story shows her sitting in a bedroom. In the corner of the bedroom is a white ceramic potted plant on a three-legged stand. I love the potted plant stand and pot…and am dying to know where she got it! Please let me know if anyone knows.
    Thanks:)
