Our modern diet, rich in refined carbohydrates, sugary beverages, and ultra processed foods, keeps insulin levels elevated and promotes metabolic dysfunction. This doesn’t just affect the waistline. It profoundly influences the brain.
Elevated blood sugar and insulin resistance activate inflammatory pathways that push microglia away from their protective role. Instead of supporting neurons, they begin producing inflammatory molecules that damage vital synapses and interfere with the brain’s ability to repair itself.
