There’s a reason we keep coming back to Flamingo Estate. In a space that can feel overdone or over-engineered, they manage to keep things simple in a way that still feels elevated. The scents, the ingredients, the storytelling. It all lands in a way that feels grounded and a little transportive at the same time.

Their California & Sage Spring Box is exactly that. After sourcing ingredients from all over the world, this one turns inward. Back to California. Back to the land they know best. Right now, that means air thick with sage, bay laurel, eucalyptus, and citrus. Herbs bundled and drying from the rafters. Fruit being pressed, oils released, everything fragrant and alive in a way that only happens for a short window each year.

What’s in the Box

Archangelica Sage Candle

This is the one that sets the tone for everything else. It’s not that sharp, overly smoky sage you expect. It’s softer, warmer, a little grounded from the angelica root with just enough lift from the pepper. We’ve been lighting it in the early evening when the day starts to slow down and it kind of resets the entire space to wind down.

Petrichor and Sage Terrazzo Soap Brick

You know that smell right after it rains when everything feels a little cleaner and greener? That’s exactly what this gives. It’s fresh, but not soapy in that artificial way. The terrazzo detail makes it feel more like an object than just a bar of soap, so it ends up living by the sink or tub instead of tucked away.

Yuzu Magnesium Bath Soak

Some bath soaks feel like a commitment. This doesn’t. It’s light, citrusy, and actually makes you want to get in the bath rather than convincing yourself you should. The magnesium does its job, but the yuzu keeps it from feeling too heavy or sleepy. It’s more of a reset than a full wind-down.

Ancient Sage Rich Cream

This is the one you reach for without thinking when your skin feels dry, irritated, or just off. It’s rich, but it melts in quickly and leaves your skin feeling calm instead of coated. We’ve been using it more like a recovery step than an everyday moisturizer.

California Bay Laurel Hydrosol Mist

This one feels like stepping outside for a second and coming back reset. It has that green, slightly resinous scent that’s crisp but not overpowering, almost like brushing past something wild on a walk. We’ve been using it everywhere. A quick mist on the face, around the room, even on pillows before bed.

Morning Matcha

This slows your morning down in a way coffee doesn’t. It’s smooth, slightly sweet, with that soft bitterness that makes it feel grounding. We’ve been making it a little ritual instead of just a drink, especially on slower mornings when you actually have a minute. It’s also great with some homemade strawberry puree to make a strawberry matcha latte.

Bergamot Citrus Curd

This feels like that moment when you cut into a really good piece of citrus and the whole room shifts for a second. It’s bright and silky, with that slightly floral edge from the bergamot that makes it feel a little more elevated than your usual curd. There’s a soft richness to it from the olive oil that keeps it balanced, not too sweet, not too sharp. We’ve been pairing it with the shortbread, but honestly, it’s just as good straight from the jar

Sage Shortbread Cookies

Buttery and crumbly, but not overly sweet, with that subtle sage note that keeps them from feeling predictable. They’re the kind of thing you put out when someone comes over and suddenly everything feels more put together.

Chaparral Salt

This might be the most underrated piece in the box. It instantly makes simple food taste better. Eggs, roasted vegetables, even just avocado. It has this dry, herbal depth that feels very tied to California without being obvious about it.
