Two clear bowls with honey and olive oil
Lately, my hair has been dry, dull and needing some extra TLC. My regular conditioner wasn’t cutting it, so I decided to bring in the big guns: extra virgin olive oil and honey! This dynamic duo has made my hair soft, shiny and manageable.Long shot of two bowls, one with honey and one with olive oil, on a white surface surrounded by flowers

Why extra virgin olive oil and honey?
Honey is able to help your hair lock in moisture which will calm and soothe the cuticles of your hair. Olive oil not only helps soothe the cuticles, but it’s a great source of Vitamin E (a powerful antioxidant) and Vitamin K. These two amazing vitamins will strengthen the source of healthy hair: your scalp.

What you’ll need:
(Measurements are for hair down to about mid back; adjust measurements accordingly!)

  • 6 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 bowl and spoon to mix
  • 1 hair clip and shower cap

Directions:

I like to shampoo my hair before I do this treatment, but that’s up to you!

Mix the ingredients together. Apply the mixture to clean, damp hair. Comb through with your fingers or a comb to make sure the mixture is worked into the entire length of your hair, including the scalp.

Twist your hair into a bun and clip. Put on the shower cap and let it sit for 30 minutes. The longer you keep it in, the better. Rinse well
with warm water. If you like, feel free to use a mild shampoo, and follow up with a conditioner. Repeat 1-2 times a week depending on the condition of your hair.

If you’re seeing a lot of split ends or experiencing dry and dull hair, give this deep conditioner a try. You’ll notice a difference after the first use. The best part is that you probably have these ingredients in your kitchen cabinet! Low effort and cost, but amazing results.

Until next time, stay pretty… inside and out.
