The stigma around mental health runs deep. Whether it’s in movies or walking down the street, the feeling that someone with a mental disorder is “different” can overpower others’ ability to see them as simply human. And if you’re the one in the throes of a mental illness, it can feel crippling and ostracizing. Who can you tell? Who will help and who will understand?

We love it when big-name brands get behind causes we champion – even moreso when they partner with a celeb we love to raise awareness to another level. This month, philosophy teamed up with musician Natasha Bedingfield to launch her new song “hope,” written specifically for the skincare brand’s hope & grace initiative to support community-based mental health organizations. Watch the video (which was inspired by words of encouragement submitted by philosophy customers and Bedingfield’s fans), buy the song to show your support (20% of proceeds go to philosophy’s initiative), then read on to learn what inspires Natasha to live her life with hope and grace…
