We don’t discriminate when it comes to smoothie bowls — we honestly love them all. But those that come with a sense of purpose always garner extra points in our book. This green smoothie bowl aims to get us gorgeous by way of a happy gut, and needless to say, we’re obsessed.

The recipe comes from Food Matters, meaning there’s plenty of real food nutrition behind it’s pretty appearance, including: healthy fats, power-packed protein, detoxifying greens and (the genius addition of) a probiotic capsule. The result? Simply stunning, both in the bowl and on our bodies.

Green Beauty Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

1 lime, zest and juice
1 cup coconut milk
1 tbsp protein powder
1⁄2 cup of ice, to thicken
3 tbsp coconut yogurt
1 frozen banana
1 small zucchini
1⁄2 medium avocado, no skin
1 tsp Food Matters Superfood Greens
1 probiotic capsule, emptied
toppings: pepitas, sunflower seeds, shredded coconut, blueberries, flaked almonds or any of your favorite beauty foods…

Directions:

In a blender, add all ingredients except coconut yogurt. Blend until a smooth, but thick consistency is formed. You may need to blend in some extra ice to thicken. Pour into your favorite breakfast bowl. Swirl in coconut yogurt and top with seeds, nuts, coconut and your favorite fruit.
