Rose Gold + Coconut Oil: 35 Things You Need To Know About Elle Macpherson

Yes, it’s true Elle Macpherson was born this way. But genetics aside, this natural mega-babe is also an international business mogul and one of our ultimate style icons. When we booked Elle for our readers this summer we couldn’t wait for her notes below. Beyond her natural beauty, Elle has a perspective we love and taste for days!

Her latest venture, Welleco, shows us just how serious Elle is about holistic wellness. Formulated in partnership with one of the world’s leading nutritional experts and disease prevention specialists, Dr Simone Laubscher, Elle’s Super Elixir is next level green powder. And if the technical stuff doesn’t impress you, how’s this: Kate Moss drinks the green stuff too.

Have fun scrolling through this list of picks and tips from Elle – from the car shoes to the shots recipe. Elle’s mentions are pure gold…

Personal uniform: It varies, but I love Isabel Marant t-shirts, Frame jeans, and the rose-gold man’s Rolex Sky Dweller my husband bought for me for my birthday. Giuseppe Zanotti, Casadei, Italian “car shoes.”

Her signature scent: Vetiver by Guerlain

Go-to skin care: Dr Sebagh Supréme Night Secret Cream. I am a loyal devotee of Dr Sebagh products, and this cell-regenerating formula promises overnight results for a bright complexion.

Daily supplement: Simplifying and de-cluttering my life is a big focus for me. I focus on the essentials, which puts me in a strong place. Quality over quantity! I don’t take tons of vitamins and supplements. I only take The Super Elixir.

Daily makeup routine: Bobbi Brown lip gloss and RMS “Un” Cover-Up

Elle’s ultimate beauty obsession: RMS Makeup! I love its youthful dewy glow and the philosophy behind the brand. No chemicals, just pure ingredients. Makeup that doubles as skincare. So clever.

Personal cooking tip: Coconut oil. It’s the healthiest oil you can cook with thanks to its super-high smoke point and ability to remain stable enough to deliver health benefits when at a high temperature. So, whenever you need to use olive, vegetable or canola oil, swap it out for coconut oil. It also makes a great substitute for butter and margarine.

Kitchen gadget worth slurging for: Vitamix blender

Mid-day energy booster: My ultimate pick me up is The Super Elixir in coconut water – shake and go! It leaves me feeling refreshed, nourished and re-energized to take on the rest of the day.
If I’m drinking coffee, it’s just pure clean coffee (I like espresso if I’m on the run), sparingly. I also like Chinese tea.

Best healthy snack: A Super Shake made with my new Nourishing Protein. It’s a super-clean, pea-protein powder that is Peruvian chocolate flavored. I take it with vanilla almond milk in a blender. Some of my favorite snacks are coconut (anything coconut! Fresh coconut meat if I’m in the Bahamas, or shaved ice), apples with almond butter or sashimi.

To keep hair in top condition: Mason Pearson’s Handy All Boar Bristle Hairbrush. This iconic brush has served me well for years – the boar bristles are very similar to human hair so it doesn’t cause any damage.”

Currently reading: The Woman I Wanted to Be by Diane Von Furstenberg, The Herald Tribune, Vanity Fair, and The Economist

Traveling in style:  Dress comfortably but not messy. Usually a soft T-shirt with silk pants and ballet pumps.  Chrome Hearts sunglasses.

In-flight tips: Constant traveling can play havoc with my skin – the protective and hydrating cream Natura Bisse’s Diamond Extreme strengthens the skin’s defenses and prevents moisture loss. Dr Sebagh Rose Oil is also great for dehydrated skin during flight.

Travel packing musts: My iPhone 6 takes a great photo! And an old Leica is always fun.

Hotels I love: I love the Fontainebleau in Miami. It has such an exciting and electric vibe, great restaurants, spa and nightlife. Liv is one of my favorite clubs – it’s like something out of a movie and reminds me of Studio 54.

Luxuries for the home: Frette sheets, L’Artisan Parfumeur L’amber scented candles, pale green hydrangeas, Hermes porcelain

Wearing to bed: Elle Macpherson lingerie, of course.

Staying in touch:  Smythson Named and personalized on cream paper with red font with two flags – UK & USA – to celebrate where my boys were born.

Staying inspired: My art collection – a mixture of contemporary American, British and Australian artists.

Recent purchase: A Bliss rotating lip scrubbing machine. It’s like a tiny Clarisonic for lips as I love soft smooth lips

Go-to juice recipe: My two favorite juices to make at home are the Morning Energizer and The Super Elixir Wheatgrass Latté:

Elle’s Morning Energizer

  1. What exactly is meant by “cold press” all the ingredients in the two recipes? Looks to me like I’d throw it all in my VitaMix, but I would think the directions would say that….

    Thanks!

  2. Yes! Juicing a banana through any kind of juicer doesn’t make sense (don’t believe me, try it!) the ingredients in her “Morning Energizer” look like they are meant to be blended, not juiced. That’s my two cents as a former juice bar owner.
