The Switch: Breakfast Cereal

Most of us love to start our mornings with something familiar, and for many, it starts with a bowl of cereal. A typical bowl of cereal is made with processed wheat and sugar that has been heated and stripped of what little nutritional benefit it has. Once it has undergone this process, synthetic vitamins are added to replenish it with what was taken from it initially. Even organic cereals fall under this processing. Oatmeal is a healthier option over conventional cereals. Oatmeal does not spike blood sugar levels and is naturally fortified with B vitamins and contains tons of fiber. Try to opt for rolled or slow cooked oats over instant packets to get the most nutritional value.
