Hello to all of you gorgeous beauties out there, especially you yummy mummies! Beauty is one of my absolute favourite subjects, and if you’ve read any of my other Chalkboard posts, you’ll know that I’m very pro ageless style and grace. Beauty will always (and forever and ever amen) come in 1,000 different packages. So let’s continue to think outside the box!

I’m a mother of three and a fashion model sometimes. In my spare time, I like to do rather weird things for my skin. I make super crazy masks out of fruits, yogurt, milk, oats, clay, chocolate, spirulina, fresh aloes and parsley and make scrubs out of almonds. Something I find lovely and so easy is to use manuka/jellybush honey to clean, nourish or heal my skin. I also love to give my skin a complete ‘break’ occasionally…you know, go to bed with it clean and just let it be hungry! I always keep on hand a nice little toner I make out of rosewater, witch hazel and essential oils of rose and frankincense.

Your skin is usually a good indication of what’s going on inside your body. I believe in taking excellent care of my body first, as well as using organic products/treatments to enhance, heal or rejuvenate as needed.

Another quick tip: Jump into a hot shower for three minutes and turn the water icy cold for 30 seconds, 3 times- this is brilliant for plumping the skin on your face and firming the body all over. Try it before you go out next time! And most importantly, think beautiful thoughts about you.

Now for a little raw cacao magic that does all of the above and more: I’m going to share with you a variation of my chocolate face mask! You can easily make this at home and it is anti-aging, nourishing, healing and cleansing all in one… only, don’t tell a soul! It’s taken from my up and coming raw chocolate book:

ABIGAIL’S CACAO JASMINE BEAUTY MASK

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon pure raw organic cacao powder
1 teaspoon green/red/white clay
½ teaspoon manuka honey
1 teaspoon each of organic noni juice/goat’s milk/water
1 drop essential oil of jasmine or lavender

Directions:

Mix all together, smooth over face, leave on 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. Splash with cold to finish, and moisturize with a few drops of Josie Maran’s super-gorgeous argan oil! Perfect!

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I usually just use brown sugar and sunflower oil.
