Clean-food chef and Top-Chef alum Candice Kumai (her latest book of recipe deliciousness is Clean Green Eats) is sharing this recipe that lets us get in on the seasonal excitement while staying true to our nutritional goals…

    Pumpkin + chocolate is a match made in heaven. The addition of fragrant bartlett pears, a touch of maple syrup, and, of course, pumpkin spice, make this drink downright decadent. Enjoy the indulgent ridiculousness and all of the natural nutritional benefits from this clean green smoothie, honey.

    Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Smoothie
    Serves 4

    Ingredients:

    1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    1 cup organic pumpkin puree
    3 cups baby spinach
    1⁄2 Bartlett pear, cored
    1⁄4 frozen banana
    2 Tbsp organic unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 Tbsp maple syrup (optional, to taste)
    1⁄4 tsp pumpkin spice
    1 cup ice

    Directions:

    Add ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
