You may not have heard his name (we’re all in the backseat since Jessica Alba entered the game!) but it’s likely that, if you’re green like us, you’ve been touched by one of his products, books, TV shows or other ventures in a way that’s helped to move you in that sustainable direction.

In it, Danny shares fresh summer cocktail recipes from – no doubt, his sexiest project – Rancho Pescadero, a green resort in Baja, Mexico. We’re ready to head to Baja ourselves for a little summer surf adventure (…just kidding, we want to eat healthy tacos on the beach!)

The Guero Baja Colada
Makes 1 pitcher


1/2 of a fresh pineapple
2 cups water
2 banana peppers
1/4 cup fresh lime juice


Cut the pineapple into chunks. De-seed the peppers. Put both in blender.

Add the lime juice and agave nectar and blend until smooth.

Fill a tall glass with ice. Strain juice into glass and garnish with lime.

The Tangy & Smoky
Makes 1 cocktail


4 Tbsp unsweetened tamarind paste
1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
1 Tbsp agave syrup
½ cup water


In a shaker filled with ice, add the tamarind, lime juice, orange juice, agave nectar and water. Shake vigorously.

Strain and pour into a chile-powder-rimmed glass.
