Daily breakfast:

A smoothie (recipe below).

Food philosophy in one sentence:

Eat real, whole, fresh foods.

Daily supplements:

As foundation nutrients, I use a high-quality multivitamin, fish oil, probiotics, vitamin D and digestive enzymes.

Can’t live without my:

Almond butter.

Once a week for my health I...

Visit a far-infrared sauna to detoxify.

Fave workout:

Some combination of interval training and weight resistance.

Best healthy option on the go:

Keep an emergency food kit. For instance, pack wild-caught canned salmon, a small bag of raw almonds, and a bottle of water.

Always in my medicine cabinet:

Epsom salts for my UltraBath, hydrating lotion, melatonin.

At least once a week I cook…

Wild-caught salmon with some kind of leafy or cruciferous veggie.

If I could give just one piece of advice...

Get eight hours of sleep every night. It’s that important.

Take a hot epsom salt bath every night to melt away stress and sleep better.

Gym shoes, earplugs, an eye mask, green-tea bags, water bottle.

Go-to juice or smoothie:

Lots of green vegetables and low-glycemic berries.

Dr. Hyman’s Smoothie


1 cup frozen blueberries
2 Tbsp almond butter
2 Tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 Tbsp chia seeds
2 Tbsp hemp seeds
4 walnuts
3 Brazil nuts
1 large banana
1 Tbsp extra-virgin coconut oil
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup water


Combine all of the ingredients in an electric blender. Blend on high speed until smooth (about 2 minutes). If the shake is too thick, add more water until you reach a thick but drinkable consistency. Serve chilled.
