Nothing brings back the happiness of childhood summers quite like an ice cream float. Every aspect of an ice cream float is magical, from that perfect combination of sweet cream with fizzy bubbles, to the debate over the perfect vehicle for eating it – spoon or candy-striped straw? – down to the very last sip from the bottom of the glass.

Now that we’re all grown up, we’ve ditched the sugar-laden soda pop – but we love the fizz of kombucha instead for a sweet and healthy summer treat. Authors Stephen Lee and Ken Koopman of Kombucha Revolution had the ingenious idea of swapping kombucha for soda to make the ultimate health dessert: The Oh-So-Nice Float! Loaded with healthy probiotics for good digestion and a strong immune system, organic acids to promote liver detoxification, B vitamins for energy production, and glucosamine for joint health, every sip of this float tastes as good as it is for you. When you’re craving something sweet with a healthy twist, try this old-fashioned ice cream float with a new-fashioned flavor. The honey and kombucha meld together, bringing a sweet-sour overtone to your ice cream of choice. Don’t wait until the end of the day to enjoy this treat; take a few minutes in the early afternoon to prepare this simple but oh-so-nice pick me up. Don’t forget the swirl – it’s the signature on your unique ice cream creation!

Kombucha Oh-So-Nice Float

Ingredients:

2 scoops organic ice cream (any flavor)
2 Tbsp raw honey
1/2 cup plain kombucha

Directions:

Fill an ice cream float glass with your favorite ice cream.

Mix the honey into the kombucha. Swirl over the top and enjoy!
