And when you stack up the December festivities on top of your regular daily grind to-dos, you’ll find yourself short on time. Instead of sacrificing your workout sesh or social hour though to get that gingerbread house iced, celebrate self-care by merging the two in a fitness friend date.

Whether you hail from warm-weathered areas or colder regions, here are the best ways to stay social AND fit during the holiday season!

If you’re blessed with balmy weather year-round…

Grab your bestie and beach cruiser and ride along the seaside. There’s nothing like salty air and an azure stretch of horizon to inspire quiet joy and heartfelt conversation. If bikes aren’t your thing, go for a long walk on the sand, keeping an eye out for any pretty shells or sea glass to glam up your gifts the natural way.

Dive into the waves for a social surf sesh. For all you mermaids who can never get enough of the ocean, slip into your wetsuits and catch those curls. Riding with a friend is a must for both safety and swapping surf stories once you’re back on dry land. Post-ride partner stretching on the warm sand is also highly recommended!

Connect with a friend while forest bathing. Being immersed amongst trees—whether they’re beautifully evergreen or whimsically deciduous—is incredibly healing. Half-way into a hike, take a moment to meditate together in the serene stillness of the forest.

Post-flow, brew up this turmeric latte recipe that combines the healing powers of turmeric, ginger, and spirulina for a warming, winter treat.

Green Dream Turmeric Latte Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup almond milk
6 oz light canned coconut milk
1/2 inch turmeric root, chopped and grated
1/2 inch ginger root, chopped and grated
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1 Tbsp Philosophie Green Bee Honey
1 tsp Philosophie Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg

Directions:

Add and mix all ingredients (except for the Green Dream powder and honey) in a saucepan and heat over medium-high heat until warm. Strain and stir in the Green Dream and honey. Pour into your favorite mugs and enjoy!
