With the high-stress nature of 2020, more and more of us are looking for realistic ways to take better care of ourselves and Elissa’s guidance is gold. Her 7-Day Reset is an accessible guide to help anyone looking to bring balance to their health right now — enter your email at the end of Elissa’s story on high-vibrational foods to get the 7-Day Reset exclusively at no charge (normally $29).

If you want the full treatment, we’re *huge* fans of Elissa’s Soup Cleanse (available for delivery in the L.A. area only). The cleanse is a feast of freshly made soups, tonics, lattes, plus spiralized salads-in-a-jar and the best-tasting bars we’ve ever eaten while on a cleanse.

This may come as a surprise to some, but high vibrational energy is just as important as nutrition and exercise when it comes to overall health. I can tell you, firsthand, that vibrational energy was a significant factor in allowing me to overcome numerous health issues. Changing my vibrational energy positively impacted me emotionally, spiritually, and physically. There are ways to raise your vibrations and protect your energetic field through the foods that you consume. I started employing this strategy ten years ago when I became a certified Holistic Nutritionist and it has helped me (and my clients!) momentously ever since.

Understanding the energetic vibrations around food allowed me to heal myself from multiple health issues including cancer, hypothyroid, Hashimoto’s, celiac, anxiety, hormonal issues, eczema, etc. The energies around the food we eat might seem like an “out there” concept, but when you tune into your body and mind after a meal, you will find that the resulting energy shift (whether positive or negative) is undeniable.

We know that when we eat ultra-processed foods made with refined sugar or unnecessary additives and preservatives, or inflammatory foods like dairy and gluten, that it makes us feel low. We feel sluggish, sleep poorly, have digestive issues, and even become emotionally drained. The people around us pick up on our low frequencies – even if it is on a subconscious level. It becomes harder for us to attract the things that bring us joy.

On the other hand, when we consume foods that are real, organic, nutrient-dense, and support our body’s systems, it can help to raise our overall vibration. Have you ever finished drinking a green juice and realized that your spirit was lifted? That is your vibration being enhanced through nutrients.

Some of my favorite vibration-enhancing foods include…

Leafy Greens

Arugula, swiss chard, spinach, mustard greens, dandelion greens, and kale are some of my top high vibration foods. They are the equivalent of liquid sunshine and your cells will drink in their goodness like gold if you juice them. For example, dandelion greens are powerful detoxifiers and a great source of vitamins A, C and K. I love eating a mix of leafy greens in salads and soups because, along with all of their vitamins and minerals, they are also high in fiber which is integral for the health of our gut.

Green Vegetables

Broccoli, bok choy, and Brussel sprouts are packed with the phytonutrients that your immune system needs for optimal function. Green vegetables are rich folate, calcium, and antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin. Folate is especially important for producing antibodies that work to destroy antigens that can make you sick.

Tea

Tea is another impressive tool that can be used to boost your energetic vibration. Tea is loaded with powerful antioxidants that help enhance your vibes. Green tea has been shown to have a protective effect against certain cancers. Some other teas like chamomile, lemon balm, passionflower, and tulsi can help to calm you, which ends up protecting your energetic field.

Mushrooms

The term “medicinal” is used to describe mushrooms for a reason! A recent study noted that Lion’s Mane mushroom is “antibiotic, anticarcinogenic, antidiabetic, anti-fatigue, antihypertensive, antihyperlipidemic, anti-senescence [anti-aging], cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, and neuroprotective, and improves anxiety, cognitive function, and depression.” Can you think of a more vibration-boosting food? Mushrooms may also increase an important immune-balancing compound called secretory IgA. Even the common mushrooms found in most kitchens are powerful vibration enhancers. They contain phytochemicals that work to increase immunity, decrease cancer risk, and more.

Fresh Berries

Berries work to lower inflammation and are high in antioxidants. They are high in fiber, low in sugar, and may help to improve your blood sugar and insulin response. Berries may also help to lower cholesterol and protect against cancer. The main antioxidant compound in blueberries is called pterostilbene which lowers inflammation and fights disease. I love adding fresh berries to smoothies for an extra energetic boost!

Sprouts

I feel so energized after consuming sprouts because they are full of protein and enzymes, which our bodies are constantly in need of. Broccoli sprouts contain sulforaphane – a natural bioactive compound that helps to activate the immune system against viruses. On average, sprouts contain more essential amino acids than their non-sprouted counter-plants.

Fresh Herbs and Spices

I incorporate spices and fresh herbs in my cooking as much as possible. They are antibacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory which is why many cultures use them as natural forms of medication. Cilantro helps to detox heavy metals and rosemary is packed with antioxidants. Spices have been around for centuries and have amazing healing abilities. Turmeric contains the extraordinarily anti-inflammatory compound curcumin. Cinnamon is delicious and loaded with antioxidants. Spices in general help with digestion, balancing blood pressure, and even with symptoms related to arthritis.

Fermented foods

Fermented foods like tempeh, kimchi, sauerkraut, low sugar kombucha, and coconut kefir are also key in protecting your energetic field. They safeguard the gut, which is the primary location of the immune system and it is integral to keep it balanced and healthy. The gut microbiome is crucial for our mood since it is where the majority of our serotonin is produced and it is also integral for weight loss. I love fermenting my own veggies and eating them throughout the day as snacks.

Beans, Peas, and Lentils

I love beans and legumes so much that I am constantly developing new ways to incorporate them into my S.O.U.P. Cleanse. They are rich in resistant starch – carbohydrates not broken down through digestion. These protein-rich foods are full of minerals, fiber, and complex carbs. I especially recommend soaked and sprouted beans and legumes because they are much easier on the digestive system. They are also full of nutrients that help to calm the central nervous system as well as B vitamins and iron.

Nuts and Seeds

Nuts and seeds, especially chia, flax, walnuts, and almonds, are a staple in my kitchen because they are high in protein, fiber, and healthy fat. They are great sources of monounsaturated fat, as well as omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fat. They are also high in micronutrients like vitamin E, iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium. They can help to reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Nuts and seeds are an ideal snack and I love using them as salad and soup toppers.

Onions, Shallots, Scallions, Leeks, Garlic, and Chives

Onions contain quercetin, a compound that may have particularly powerful bacteria-fighting abilities, as well as prebiotic fiber that feeds only the beneficial bacteria in the large intestine. They also contain cancer-fighting compounds, help control blood sure, may boost digestive health, and may even positively affect bone density.

Blue-Green Algae

This funky food is one of the healthiest on the planet. It is packed with chlorella and I love adding a serving of it to my smoothie or water with lemon in the morning to kick off my day in a high-vibe way. Spirulina has proven to lower dangerous LDL and triglyceride levels while simultaneously raising good cholesterol. Some research shows that blue-green algae may reduce blood pressure and promote anti-cancer properties.

Sea Vegetables

While algae tend to gather on still or slow-moving water, sea vegetables are found in the ocean. Dulse is known as a metabolism booster and can help to cleanse and repair the liver. Kelp is especially high in vitamin B and also contains healthy levels of vitamins C and E. I only recommend organic, wild-grown seaweed harvested off of the Atlantic coast because other forms of it can be high in toxins. But if you can get your hands on it, I recommend it because it really helps to increase my vibrational energy.

There are other methods that I use daily to ensure that I am keeping my vibrational frequencies high like meditation, gratitude journaling, reiki, yoga, and meaningful connection with other high vibration people. Start to tap deeper into your energy levels to become more aware of how yours are affected. Notice how you feel after you eat a meal or drink a vegetable juice. Become more aware of what foods keep your vibrations high. Take note of the things you attract when your vibrational energy is elevated versus when it is low. I guarantee you will start to notice some trends.

  12. Whatever the benefits of mushrooms may be, they are a LOW VIBRATION food, and will decrease your vibrational energy quickly, and effect will last about 24 hours. Mushrooms (fungi) are primitive and low energy organisms. Athletes foot is also a fungi.

  13. “Vibrational energy” — hahaha, what nonsense. That’s just as pseudoscientific as a “7-Day Reset.”

  14. I have an indeterminate autoimmune problem – have for years. I started taking Spirulina (blue-green algae) every day because of its purported health benefits and let me tell you – I had crazy inflammatory immune response. I thought I was having another bad episode of whatever it is I have…started looking into anything I had been doing differently and researched spirulina – it is NOT GOOD for people with autoimmune issues. It exacerbates them. These articles should at the very least mention such side effects.

  15. Are you still offering the link for the 7 day reset? Thank you
