We were impressed when we learned about SALUS, a non-profit hub designed to keep Angelenos informed on all-things COVID-19 during this pandemic. The non-profit platform partners with LA’s public leaders and first responders to determine where outbreaks are happening throughout the city, where students can access grab and go food centers, and which farmer’s markets are still in operation.
SALUS is a product of The Homeland Security Advisory Council of Los Angeles (HSAC), a non-profit from Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy (HSAC@SPP). HSAC was founded by LA business leaders and local philanthropists to support the city’s efforts to prepare for and respond to a crisis — whether man-made, a pandemic or a natural disaster.
According to SALUS on April 9, California had 19,700 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 7,955 of them in Los Angeles county. Almost 50% of those cases are between the ages of 18-49.

Find resources | SALUS has a map of all LAUSD Grab and Go Food Centers and Santa Monica and Malibu Grab and Go Food Centers. Each child can take home two nutritious meals.
The County and City of Los Angeles are also providing free meals to older adults age 60 and older either at distribution sites or via home-delivered meals. Adults 65 and older must send a family member, friend, or caregiver who is under the age of 65 to pick up meals at their assigned site. LEARN MORE
