The Switch: Farmed Atlantic To Wild Pacific Salmon

It can be difficult getting to the bottom of which fish is healthy and which is not. Salmon is touted for being one the top fish when it comes to nutrition. It’s packed with heart healthy omega 3’s and high in protein. But not all salmon is ideal, and that includes wild & farm-raised Atlantic salmon.

Wild salmon from the Atlantic has been banned for consumption due to their dramatic decrease in population over the years. Salmon that comes from the Atlantic currently is farm-raised and should be avoided. Many salmon farms run in unhealthy conditions and the fish are, in some cases, fed soy and corn. Soy and corn were not meant for fish! If you are going to have salmon, make sure you choose wild salmon from the Pacific – it’s your best bet.
