Aprés-Cleanse: An Indulgent Chocolate Spirulina Detox Smoothie

If you’ve recently completed a juice cleanse, congratulations! We know how much discipline it takes to pass on everything but juice and almond milk for a few days. Instead of re-toxing right back into your pre-cleanse ways, try this tasty, rich, and healthy chocolate detox smoothie – it feels over-indulgent, but won’t undo all the efforts you just made!

The Problem: It’s easy to go a little overboard once you’ve completed a cleanse. Wine? Yes please. Burgers? Oh, behave. Chocolate? Bring it on! Chocolate Spirulina Detox Smoothie

Ingredients

1 c spinach
1 banana, frozen and sliced
1 c nut milk 
1/2 c coconut water
2 tbsps raw cacao powder
2 tsp spirulina powder
1 heaping tbsp almond butter
Pinch of sea salt
1 tsp preferred natural sweetener, to taste as needed
1 scoop preferred chocolate protein powder (optional)

Instructions

Add all ingredients into a powerful blender. Blend until smooth. To super-charge that chocolate-y taste, add a chocolate protein powder of your choice. Top with a superfood-packed cereal such as Living Intentions Hemp And Greens Superfood Cereal for an added crunch. Indulge and enjoy!

  1. This looks soooooooo goooooood!!! I do a one day juice cleanse one a month and I feel so great afterward that I don’t want to eat bad at all. This is perfect – amazingly delicious, but still super healthy! I’ll probably skip the protein powder and maybe add a just a smidge of peppermint extract or fresh mint leaves to give it a mint chocolate flavor. Yay! Thanks. 🙂

  2. I tried some similar smoothie or tea detox but nothing works as I want;/ Of course its delicious and I can drink such things every day instead of snack- but its not moving my metabolism. Now Iam using Fibre Primvital, couse its only natural grains which can help my body. Anybody know smth about this products?
