Oh the weather outside is frightful…but your skin doesn’t have to be. That wintery frostbitten look is cute, sure – but in reality, it leaves our faces feeling tight, parched, and in no shape for a face full of makeup! This season, ditch the heavy stuff and opt for only the products that highlight, luminize, and enhance your natural radiance. Annie Atkinson, the beauty maven behind She’s In The Glow, shares her simple five-step routine for perfectly glowy winter skin…

When it’s cold out, your skin takes a hit. It’s tighter and drier than normal, and a face full of foundation just doesn’t work. But just because it’s freezing outside doesn’t mean your whole look should suffer, right? You’re still able to achieve radiant skin, whether you are heading to the office or out for a cozy Saturday afternoon brunch. If you know me, you know that I have come a long way from my airbrush and fake-bake tanning days and have actually embraced my pale skin. I like to think that I am channeling some sort of modern day Snow White. As a true New Yorker, I have actually convinced myself that it almost looks chic to be pale. But, if you are going to do pale, you have to do it right. You need something happening on your face otherwise you can start to look dull. It’s all about mastering that flawless “no makeup” makeup look.

To get the prettiest wintery daytime beauty look, you want to start with fresh skin. I believe that the key to longterm wintertime luminosity begins with this magical little duo: an all-natural and non-toxic moisturizer and a fabulous face oil. At the moment, I am whipping up a concoction of Tata Harper’s Reparative Moisturizer with Ila’s Face Oil. This combo is straight up divine! Once you’ve applied your skincare, skip your foundation and bronzer and leave it to these five beauty products that will deliver the loveliest wintery, frostbitten look.

5 Step To a Dewy Daytime: All The Natural Beauty Products You Need

Highlight

Skip your heavier concealer and use a highlighting pen instead. Apply under the eyes and around the nose. A little under-eye darkness actually enhances this look. I love Beauty Counter’s Touchup Concealer Pen!

Luminize

Everyone knows that RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is the best way to glow without looking shimmery or sparkly. It’s like the perfect color. Apply on your eyelids, brim of nose, cupid’s bow and anywhere else you want to be dewy and glowy.

Sculpt

A well-sculpted brow is key for this look. I use Per-fekt Brow Perfection Gel in Nude because it’s formulated without parabens, sulfates and synthetics. This clear gel keeps my brows in place all day, I swear. Brush up and out. I also skip traditional mascara and use this to naturally lengthen my lashes. Don’t forget your bottom lashes and the corners too.

Brighten

Apply a little color on your cheeks. Tata Harper’s Lip and Cheek Tint  in Very Charming is the prettiest sheer pink! It smells great and kind of lifts your cheeks. It’s totally non-toxic and organic, so it won’t kill your skin. The color is perfect and looks like your have been caught in the wind, naturally flushed. Apply on the apples of your cheeks and blend up into the hairline and right below the temples.

Moisturize

When it’s freezing your lips look cold, bitten and blue. This look can be overwhelmingly gorgeous when done right or totally gross if your lips are dry and cracked. Bite’s Agave Lip Mask in Champagne is like the best of both worlds – the prettiest color and finish plus the nourishing properties of a mask! It feels thick and rich without being sticky or annoying to wear.
