You already know that when it comes to healthy habits, the buddy system works like a charm. But did you know that the couple who cleanses together, stays together? More and more studies are showing that when it comes to making lasting changes in your health and happiness, your S.O. can be your greatest ally and biggest defense against a derailed diet, exercise exhaustion and falling off the wagon. Moreover, couples who do things like work out, eat healthy, and log 8-10 hours of sleep together report closer bonds, deeper trust, and are more likely to build a love story that stands the test of time.

We’re firm believers in taking on life as a team, which is why this Valentine’s Day we’re gifting one lucky set of lovebirds a detox built for two: a set of Pressed Juicery three-day cleanses for you and your love! The winners of our Love Story giveaway will win three days of Pressed Juicery’s most popular cleanse, filled with heart-healthy Greens, radiant Roots, captivating Citrus, and of course our swoon-worthy Almond Milk. What’s more? We’re marrying (get it?) two of our main-squeeze obsessions to help you snag the win: Pressed and Pinterest!

Whether you’re planning on popping open a bottle of bubbly out on the town next week or just staying snuggled up in your pajamas, bonding over a doubled-up cleanse might be just what you need to bring out your shiniest, sexiest selves ever. 8. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 5 years and within that time we have both seen each other’s ups and downs when it comes to weight, health and general well-being. Over the last 6 months, however, we have been committed to eating clean, whole foods as a means to better our lives. And so far, so good! That said, we have yet to try a juice cleanse and have been wanting to for some time now. Our high cost of living in SF has kept us from taking the plunge so this will definitely be put to good use. I also have a feeling we’ll like it so much that we’ll sacrifice something else to make room for more Pressed Juices. Here’s is our board: http://www.pinterest.com/taraashb/the-chalkboard-my-love-story/

    Thanks so much!

  9. Tara Brown and I work as each others support system when it comes to living clean. The single best development of our “healthy” lifestyle is the understanding that it isn’t a short term fix, but a sustainable, paradigm shift made for life.

The term “diet”, which for so long meant denial or self-punishment followed by rebound gluttony, has been transformed by choice. The choice to eat something, but choosing not to. Not because of some arbitrary diet rule, but because you understand the processes behind both food creation and body function. By disassociating diet from denial, and re-associating it with the bodies performance, we have eliminated the self-sabotage that was so common in our earlier attempts at healthy eating (South Beach, 4 Hour Body, S.A.D, etc).

Tara marching lockstep with me has made the change all the better. She keeps me in check, helping me stay on the path when I may struggle, but she’s also there to remind me it’s ok if you fall off the wagon, to indulge in the occasional pancake fest, because she will always be there to help me get right back up.

  10. Being with my boyfriend has given me more growth and inspiration as a person throughout the years; making me a better “me”, helped maintain our strong relationship, and he has truly helped me accept myself among my strengths and weaknesses. He has not only supported me with my passion of health and fitness but has continued to be my partner, my shoulder, and my “person” through it all (yes, including the falls we may have in acro-yoga, which he surprisingly he has come to LOVE~) In the years that we have been together, I have never been more confident to share my healthy lifestyle with my friends/family/students/coworkers and within social media. We have built such a strong, lasting relationship surrounded by food and travels. We love to travel with our rescue pup, Milo, cook together in the kitchen trying new super foods and exotic herbs, explore the outdoors, and I couldn’t be happiest to know that he has also helped me continue living the life I do.

From the boy: I have never been a “healthy conscious” guy. But the moment I met her, I was intrigued and mesmerized by her vibrant energy and continual love of life (food and all), which inspired me to do the same – to be a healthier and better me. I tried food I never knew existed, flavors I never tasted, activities I never thought I could get myself to do (ie: acro yoga). But among all the smiles, laughs, jokes, tears and happy moments doing these new things I know that I have become a healthier and better person. I will always support her and want to continue spreading the healthy lifestyle she loves to everyone as well.

  16. We met at the gym and have continued to keep fitness as a priority in our lives. My boyfriend was willing to try eating more of the foods I ate which included a lot of vegetables and less processed foods. Our goal is to live a healthy and happy life by incorporating healthy foods, regular workouts, different ways to be active, education, relaxation, and time spent with people we love. This was a fun way to describe our relationship in pictures!

    • In meeting at the gym, it sums up our attitude and relationship in regards to health and fitness. She’s done a great job to improve the nutrition component of my life. Jill helped me focus on some important things that I didn’t pay attention to in my life, like the foods I ate. When she did her first cleanse, I thought she was a little crazy, until I tried the juice. It was surprisingly good and I saw how good it made her feel. I’m glad I am with someone who shares the same beliefs about a healthy lifestyle.

    Hi Pressed Juicery!
Growing up frequenting local health food stores and taking wheatgrass shots I had come to the conclusion that I HATED fresh juices, especially anything green, but you guys changed that for me. Not only do I love your juices, I crave them! (Most surprisingly the Greens 3 and Roots 3!) But enough about me… here is what you need to know about me and my loves 🙂

My husband and I have been together 10 years and we have 2 amazing kids. In the early years I went through some serious health problems and even if I would have begged him to, he wouldn’t have left my side. We got through those times together and then enjoyed the newly married times which included way too many unhealthy indulgences (oreos and redbull mostly!) I knew what I was eating was wrong so would try to increase our veggie intake but my husband grew up never even trying any vegetables except lettuce and potatoes so everything was a new experience for him. He is still getting used to it all and I am always working hard to get us on track but honestly I had picked up a lot of his loves for things like steak and cheesecake. 3 years ago something happened that really changed our lives and our love. We had our second child (We already had a beautiful 1 year old daughter named Ocean Marie) and the very next day after he was born we were told our precious, tiny son had a tumor. I was completely a wreck. They sent in nurses and doctors to console me as I sobbed holding onto my son with every will that I had. He was quickly seen by specialists and had emergency surgery the very next week. We found out it was a very rare type of tumor and he would have to be followed up for life. My husband was there for us every step of the way. He was the pillar of strength that I needed who handled every call, and volunteered to hold our son for the testing while he cried, so that I didn’t have to see that. He has continued to be there for all 3 of us even after that ordeal and I appreciate him so much. I have tried hard to take our health even more seriously ever since and I truly believe healthy, fresh food can be the best medicine. Looking back I just know there was more I could have done nutritionally to support my body. I cook as healthy as I can for my picky eaters and I try to buy pressed juices when I can, but of course, with us still owing on medical and the expenses of life, and kids, we have to be very careful about our budget, and often fall into a pattern of cheaper food- aka “junk food”. This is especially true for my husband who gets so busy for work that he can’t go grab something fresh and will just eat processed things for breakfast and lunch. A couple weeks ago we sat down and made goals for the year and his was to get into a healthy BMI range by eating healthier and I want desperately to support that. This cleanse is EXACTLY what we need. I know it will give us a kickstart on the right track and it will give me the opportunity to relax knowing we are taken care of for a few days so I don’t have to budget so hard for fresh fruits and veggies or try to make my own juices (which honestly don’t even compare to yours!) It will hopefully be fun for the kids to try some of our juices or recipes too if we win! We already know we are big fans, we just don’t really have the means to do this on our own right now so it would be so appreciated. Thanks for looking at our board!
    xoxo

  19. We are both recent graduates from California schools and have started our “big kid” jobs this past year. Learning to leave room to make packed healthy lunches, go to the gym, and play with my Great Dane puppy has been a steep learning curve. We both commute over an hour one way into work (DTLA and Santa Monica) which can lead to discouraging attitudes and habits to continue leading healthy lifestyles. This 3 day cleanse would be the perfect kick in the butt for both of us to remain on the healthy commuter track! That and we both have been OBSESSED with the Pressed Juicery juices since the first time we had them on an SF trip! Here’s our #TCMlovestory board! Can’t wait until you guys expand to Orange County and the Inland Empire!

  20. Me and my girlfriend have been together for 8 years (this March!) As high school sweethearts, I have found that there is no greater feeling in the universe than having someone else in your life balance you out with their love. Being in an interracial relationship as well as being lesbians…we have had our fair share of non-fans in our life but we’ve never let that dim our lights. She is one of the kindest, smartest and most driven people I have come across and I am so lucky that she chose someone like me to share her life with. We’ve recently begun our journey on having a better/healthier lifestyle and couldn’t think of a better way to start it than with a cleanse to help fully kick us into gear. Our Valentine’s day plans include getting some of our favorite tacos and then buying a juicer (I’m not kidding…) – a little contradictory, but it’s the truth 🙂 Without gushing on and on about us, I wanted to share my Pinterest board that was relaxing and fun to create :

  21. My love story!!
All growing up I was always dating. I had my heartbroken more times than I could count! My parents got divorced when I was 20 because my dad had cheated on my mom pretty much their whole marriage. At the same time my first love of my life broke my heart. At this point I had given up on love!! I figured what’s the point everyone is awful everyone cheats and only fiary tales happen in the movies. I went on like this for a few years until a good friend of mine took matters into her own hands and created an online dating profile for me. I was on there for a few months mostly out of boredom. The day before I was going to delete it I got a special message that caught my eye. Jason and I messaged for over a month until our first date. Our first was movie perfect and our second date was the very next day. Since then we have shared so many memories and fun times and really fallen on love. Again!! Never thought I could ever say that. So I guess the most important part of my love story is he showed me what true love is. He restored my faith in what love is and should be. He write me love letters and states at me like no other human has ever looked at me. He says all the time “my whole life had been preparing me for you.” And I believe it’s vice versa. I have never met anyone I had such a connection with, such a love for. It has been incredible! I never knew
I could be this happy again and then some! ❤️

We’re looking forward to the pure bliss and enjoyment of being surrounded by our mother earth, our father sky, and our grandmother water. Not to mention the company of one another. Nothing is better than a three day cleanse from Pressed Juicery to help us prepare our bodies for our romantic adventure together.

Even through the stressful moments such as being in medical school or my mom being diagnosed with cancer we have both used eating healthy and exercise to maintain the energy we need. Through these experiences and our shared passions we have grown closer in our relationship. I would like to continue to expand our relationship and share a cleanse challenge! WHOA!
I found this Love Story Giveaway on the Chalkboard website, and decided this would be great to do with my Partner John aka Slick. We both have been exercising good healthy habits. Me more than him…. I thought maybe this would encourage my Partner John aka Slick to stay on track more. We met on Chemistry.com in 2009, and by the beginning of 2011 we began our journey into Health. I became ill and out of balance from stress and eating habits. We found a Holistic MD, Dr. John Hicks @ elementlsliving.com in Delavan, WI. I began my journey with my Partner John/aka Slick. We were introduced to a way of Health with holistic balancing (energy balancing) juicing, food tolerance (gluten), and supplements. Our love has grown through this journey and I look forward to our future together as we continue to find things we like to do together. This journey has brought me to better health, and understanding of mind and body and soul. We have not been able to travel, vacation and or enjoy life to it’s fullest and would love the cleansing getaway. Thank you for this opportunity…

Great fun and a good exercise for further developing our relationship and love story. To often I get caught up in things and don’t spend the time to really appreciate what is right in front of me every day. I am blessed to have her love and so happy we enjoy so many things together. Trying new and old things and enjoying and laughing when doing or reminiscing about them helps us see the best in each other and appreciate all we have.
