To be clear, we’ll never turn down chocolate, but, on Valentine’s Day, there’s something so thrilling about receiving flowers. They’re just the right temperature of romance for the somewhat cheesy holiday and, if you work with the right florist, they never feel like a stale sentiment.

We love the idea of celebrating every kind of love in our lives this month and enlisted florist, Kat Horwich of Iris and Daughter for these three Galentine’s Day appropriate bouquets. Each of these breath-taking armfuls of lilacs, ranunculus and poppies feel extravagant, but natural – throwing wild hints that spring is on it’s way.

Take a cue from Kat and head to the flower market early in the AM this week. Swipe up your favorite blooms and create personality-appropriate arrangements for each of your gal pals. Even better, invite them over and have them lend you a hand for the perfect February afternoon (just add champagne.)

We asked Kat to create these three unique bouquets for three wildly different ladies in our lives and she hit the nail on the head.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Rubberbands, paper towels, plastic wrap: Florist’s tip: wrap stem ends in damp paper towel, then plastic wrap, secure stems with rubber bands.

Craft paper: One giant square per bouquet. Wrap stems in paper like silverware in a napkin. Secure loose ends with tuck or tape.

Tag and twine: Use a gift tag like this one from Goldpress Paper and secure to the bouquet with old-fashioned string or twine. Leave a personal message.
