After serving up more avocado toast than they can recall to a few loyal New Yorkers, The Butcher’s Daughter is finally opening doors here in L.A. the first week of January, on Abbot Kinney in Venice. We love it when New York brands with this kind of healthful, relaxed style lands in L.A. – it seems as though they’re finally home!

We met up with founder and wellness lover Heather Tierney to chat about how she’s finding life here in Venice (pretty well we’d say by the look of her gorgeous Venice canal cottage!) The new The Butcher’s Daughter location shows off Heather’s strong design skills – think airy communal tables, a California-feeling marketplace – and the food in this new location is as strong as ever. We’re thinking brunch on the reg’.

Read through our chat with Heather as she dishes on her healthy living staples and the perfect recipe for (what else?) avocado toast…

daily buzz:

Vittoria Coffee flat white in the morning (and maybe in the afternoon). Love this Australian based brand – such great coffee and good Aussie vibes.

daily health staple:

Butcher’s Daughter Liquid Vitality Elixir Shot: ginger, honey, yuzu, echinacea, tincture – especially during the holidays when my immune system is tested.

west coast beauty:

I rely on NaturaBisse Diamond Facewash. I swear this is the key to looking younger and shining!

perfect snack:

Avocado toast from The Butcher’s Daughter. It sounds so simple, but it’s the best, and a perfect way to get a good healthy dose of fats. I use the homemade 12-grain bread from the farmer’s market, and top fork-smashed avocado wtih cilantro, mustard seed, a squeeze of lime and a fresh farm egg. Perfection!

beach bod:

Officina Latte Per il Corpo Body Milk. This lotion makes your skin so soft and it smells amazing.

Go to yoga:

The Yoga Collective in Venice. They have the best music and a 90-minute class is perfect for a good long workout.

Farmer's Market:

Friday morning Farmer’s Market in Venice. So many goodies there – pumpkin hummus, flowers, and my favorite, the delicious 12-grain bread.

weekend getaway:

Love to head to Ojai Rancho Inn to relax and stay sane. I love the bar there, the design is so on point.

getting outdoors:

Running the Santa Monica stairs. I love the view, not to mention, it’s a great way to keep the booty in shape.

pick me up:

Kombucha Dog (original). I can’t get enough of these!!! It’s a clean “pick me up” refresher in the middle of the day.
