Shiva Rose is no stranger to that Chalkboard way of life. We’ve featured her many times in her Santa Monica Mountains home, are obsessed with her new serum, and run into her at our favorite spots in town. But nowhere is our shared love for all things natural more evident than on the pages of The Local Rose where Shiva regularly shares insights on how she achieves the holistic good life in the day-to-day.

Shiva is the real deal and we knew her Green Goddess Guide would be a thrill to read. The recent launch of her own beautifying rose oil make this the perfect time to share her sweet insights on beauty rituals, favorite products and all-out obsessions. Read now, shop her guide and then take a turn about her beautiful site for a dose of all things Rose.

Can’t travel without…

Oils for skin, rose-water spray, crystals, mantras on my iPhone.

In a pinch I…

Burn sage. Use coconut oil for everything.

Always in my evening clutch:

RMS lip stains in Sacred or Sublime, musk oil, or Koa by L’Oeil Du Vert.

Obsession of the moment:

L’Oeil Du Vert scents, shea butters, Egyptian Magic, salt scrubs by this mystery woman.

Beautifying snack/meal:

Almond milk, maca, flax seed, walnut butter smoothie. Berries or fruit from my garden, raw goat yogurt.

Beautifying drink:

Nettle tea, hibiscus tea, water and lemon, red clover tea and calendula tea.

For ultra-glamorous effect:

RMS Luminizer, black eyeliner cat-style, non-toxic nail polish.

Perfect pout:

Hourglass lipstick. Nars lipstick, then take it off for stained lips. You can also can use a liner to line lips then remove.

Beauty tool:

My mind, Kundalini meditations, nature.

Weirdest beauty habit:

Not brushing my hair; putting washed ghee on my face and body. Also oil pulling first thing in the morning (take a tablespoon of coconut oil or sesame oil and leave in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes to draw out the impurities in your body).

In the shower I keep…

Goat milk soaps (sold on The Local Rose Shop), sesame oil, and Komenuka Bijin shampoo.

Once a month I…

Not sure I can tell you, its very witchy.

After a long-night or rough weekend…

I take a hot bath with sea salt; drink tea and lots of water with chlorophyll.

On little sleep I rely on…

Bee-pollen pellets, Zen and Bunni raw chocolates – we made a rose bar together that is divine –  green juice (minus the kale), and vitamin B.

The product that changed my skin…

Most treasured beauty tip…

A spoonful of ghee in the morning, laughter, olive oil and avocado.

For glowing skin…

Exfoliate, sleep, coconut oil, and sea-buckthorn oil orally.

My go-to DIY:

Manuka honey and oatmeal as a face mask. Homemade rose water to spray on the face to tone the skin and open the heart chakras.
