If anything is aspirational it is our July Guest, the iconic beauty, Elle Macpherson. We wouldn’t be surprised to find Elle’s picture in the dictionary under “aspirational” and remember a time – before Pinterest, when the women of the world relied solely on images of Elle “The Body” Macpherson for summer fit-spiration. We’re so delighted to host Elle this July and can hardly imagine a more perfect representation of what it looks like to “live well” in the heart of summer.
Beyond Elle’s obvious aspirational qualities (we haven’t even begun to speak of her career as a global businesswoman and charitable work with organizations from (RED) to UNICEF) Elle has made it a point to keep the glowing health she embodies remarkably accessible for others. She has been a champion of healthy living within the modeling industry and for women everywhere, embodying a truly active and balanced lifestyle that embraces wellness to the core. Dear Chalkboard readers,
I am so excited to be this month’s guest editor and celebrate this warm weather with you! I love this time of year; for me it means it’s easy to get outside, be active and spend time with my family on the water. When summer takes you outdoors, it is so important to feel well and have the energy to keep up with the kids. Wellness is a way of life for me and I want to share why it needn’t be complicated to feel great, live your life and be the best version of yourself.
As a young model I was seen as athletic and strong, but it was not until much later that I realized the importance of wellness and how proper nutrition can have a profound effect on how you look and feel.
It’s well known that eating more plants can help keep our bodies alkaline, but I know how difficult it can be to live a strict alkaline diet, and honestly, I don’t believe in extremes. I want to live my life and not worry, so I take an alkalizing greens supplement every day.
