  2. I have been swimming in my pool, and the chlorine seems to dry my skin. I have used Josie’s Argan Oil as a body moisturizer after swimming and now my skin is moist, beautiful and glowing!!! Her argan oil is a summer must have if you are a swimmer!

  3. Mt summer beauty tip is to use Argan oil on your toes and heels. It helps to heal my cracked heals and toe cuticles. It’s moisturizing properties makes every thing smooth and subtle. Argan oil is must have for flip flops!

  5. I tend to use pure theraputic grade lavender oil with another carrier oil (such as Josie Maran’s Argan Oil) as a topical sunburn relief. I’ve spent so many summers in the Caribbean, that getting sunburned sometimes happens. Using lavender oil and argan oil has helped soothe and heal my sunburns in a matter of days. It’s truly an essential of mine!

  6. For me, the most important thing to do hydrate since I am big sweater. Second, is a sunscreen. I soak my face in raw coconut oil and after about 15 minutes (once it’s soaked and I have blotched the remains off) I apply the Tropical Sands 100% natural sunscreen with spf 30. It is Eco-Friendly and and the bottle is biodegradable. So not only do I protect my skin but also help the world!

  7. My summer beauty trick is a homemade face mask made out of avocado, raw honey, and josie’s argan oil. It’s organic, eco-friendly, and super easy to whip up. I mash up about a half of a small avocado and add about two teaspoons of raw honey and about a half of a dropper of argan oil. I leave it on anywhere from ten to thirty minutes, depending on how much time I have. Avocados are extremely rich in vitamins and contain lecithin, which is very helpful in restoring your skin. Honey is packed with antioxidants and helps keep my blemishes at bay. And of course Josie’s argan oil is a miracle moisturizer. Afterwards, my skin is hydrated and refreshed!!!

  8. My special summer beauty trick would not be possible if I had not discovered Josie Maran’s Argan Oil. My hair is extremely long and tends to get dry in the summertime heat. After realizing how well the argan oil worked on my skin, I decided to try it in my hair. Just a few drops after getting out of the pool or the lake, and my hair is back to being soft and dries with waves and no frizz. Josie Maran products are a dream come true!

  9. In MN summertime means lots of fresh berries! Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, etc. Sometimes we have more than we can eat right away and a few start to get soft. I like to take those berries, mash them up in a dish, and spread it on my face for a lovely gentle scrub and then leave it sit 10 min for a mask. On really hot days I mix the berries with a dab of plain yogurt too for a cool treat. I feel good about not wasting the berries and it always leaves me glowing!

  10. I slather on Josie’s Argan Oil on my face before I put my SPF on, to help hydrate my face. I also use Josie’s Argan Oil at night before I go to bed. Her line is the best product line out there & I love that it is cruelty free:) I also like to put a tablespoon of Coconut Oil in my hair to give some shine & reduce frizz, especially in the Summer.

  11. I believe in the power of organic oil as a skin and hair tonic because it actually penetrates the skin better than any conditioner or lotion. The night before an event, I mix organic coconut, argan and sesame oil (with essential oils) in a glass container which I immerse in a separate container of hot water. I work this through my hair with my fingers and sleep with it overnight. The next morning I wash it out with organic shampoo (free of sulphates, parabens and sodium benzoate) and lukewarm water. I let my hair air-dray outside in order to harness the vitamin D properties of the sun. For a beauty ritual in the morning, before a start to a busy social weekend, I apply organic argan oil to my face and over that I put on a clay mask to draw out impurities. The oil prevents the clay from drying out the skin, and seems to activate the clay ingredients! While I wait for the mask to do it’s magic, I make a female-hormone smoothie since a healthy glow comes mainly from within – I mix spring water with raw yoghurt, chia seeds, maca root, shatavari (asparagus root powder), ashwaghanda (Indian ginseng), coconut oil, raw honey and a banana! All organic! And viola – a beautiful balance from within and without!

  12. Its hard to pick a product I love for summer because for me, summer is a great time to be as minimal as possible! I LOVE LOVE argan oil, it has given my skin such an amazing dewy glow and I believe if your skin is beautiful and glowy then you don’t really have to do much else..all of Josie’s products are amazing…the beauty of them is that they are all natural!!

  13. I use Argan Oil Daily Moisturizer with SPF 40+ every single day, even in winter, because I don’t dare leave the house without sunscreen. I’m of Irish Heritage and am very, very fair complected and am counting on Josie to keep me from getting sunspots and skin cancer, let alone pre-mature aging! Thanks Josie!

  14. My summer beauty trick is to exfoliate my skin. I add a little bit of Iris Florentina flower powder to my Argan cleansing oil for a gentle exfoliation every day and I have the smoothest skin ever. It is a very organic and natural way to exfoliate. One can also make a lavender flower powder instead of Iris’ and it will work just as well. Your skin will thank you;-)

  15. FOR SUMMER I WHERE A LITTLE BIT OF TINTED MOISTURE WITH SPF AND WHEN I RUN OUT OF WATERPROOF MASCARA I USE A DROPPER AND APPLY TO DROPS OF COCA-COLA ON INSIDE MY MASCARA SO IT CAN LAST ME FOR A COUPLE MORE TIMES TO USE. A LITTLE BIT OF CLEAR LIP GLOSS AND OF COURSE I NEVER FORGET MY ARGAN OIL FOR MY FACE AND BODY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE OILY SKIN IT WORKS AMAZING, IT DOESN’T LEAVE MY SKIN OILY YAY! 😀

  16. Argan oil has saved my hair! I moved to the high desert last summer and tried everything to save my locks from the dry heat, and argan oil is the only thing that worked. It also doesn’t hurt that it smells amazing. My hairdresser even noticed how healthy my hair has been! I also love Arbonne’s skin conditioning oil for my face to increase cell-turnover, seriously moisturize, and give me a healthy glow during the summer.

  17. If I know I’ll be spending some time in the sun, after shampooing, I soak my hair in lukewarm super-concentrated chamomile tea. The tea enhances the highlighting effects of the sun, without the harsh strippers of peroxide or commercial dyes.

  18. By far, my BEST summer beauty ritual is exfoliating from head-to-toe in a warm bath using a set of natural exfoliating gloves, then gently towel-drying and applying Josie’s Argan Oil as an all-over body moisturizer… seriously leaves skin glowing and bikini-ready! P.S. When is Pressed coming to Seattle?! 🙂

  19. Not only was I lucky enough to inherit an oily scalp but I am also someone who seems to perspire more than the average person. This of course causes greasy hair that I feel compelled to wash every day even though I know that the overuse of shampoo is unhealthy for my hair and usually leaves my head looking like a huge, cottonball. I know what you’re all thinking right now – how did she get so lucky? The one think that I actually do feel lucky about is being turned onto Argan Oil Hair Serum. Total lifesaver. I now have a pretty clean hair regimen that includes a homemade Traditional Indian Hibiscus Wash which is a just a simple blend of several hibiscus flowers and either enough water, lemon or apple cider vinegar (chose your own adventure in terms of the liquid you use) to make a paste. I massage the paste into my scalp and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. After that I rinse it out thoroughly and find that my hair not only smells amazing (especially if I opt for the Hibiscus and Lemon blend) but is pretty soft considering I’ve used two completely natural ingredients. In order to take care of any possible frizz issues, I use Argan Oil Hair Serum at the tips of my hair and voila!

  20. I live by the ocean, so summer is like nirvana to me! I love the golden glow that I get from the sun, but I’m wise enough to know that our ozone is depleted, which translates into stronger suns rays and with my fair skin, the possibility of skin cancer. So while I protect my skin with sunscreen, and my hair with argan oil (it’s never looked better at age 51–Thanks, Josie!), I had to figure out a way to get the LOOK of a sun-worshiping goddess. I experimented with Josie Maran’s Bronzing Argan Oil by adding a few drops in my palm to my Tinted Moisturizer with SPF30. I have found that it looks very natural, never orange, and I get terrific skin as a bonus! Plus, a few drops of the Bronzing Argan Oil mixed into my body lotion or sunscreen gives me just the look I’m after. No one has any idea that I stay under the umbrella at the beach–and I just wink when I get compliments on my “tan”!

  21. Just love using the oil on my face I don’t wear make-up so this oil is great. I don’t get breakouts as long as I use Argan oil on my face. My hair feels so great when I use this. All I can say this is one of the best oils in my bag of health tricks. Even this oil has gotten in my eyes and there was no burning or harm done. I have allergies so I rub my eyes alot so they get little sores in the corners this oil keeps it moist so they don’t get irritated.

  22. I have a wonderful new summer beauty trick thanks to Josie Maran (as I wouldn’t have ever done this with an unnatural product 😀 ). Using the Josie Maran Argan balm, on clean and if necessary, moisturized hands, then take the smallest amount (a little goes a long way) of the JM Argan Balm, and cover your hands, cuticles, down to your wrists, and on your nails and palms if you need it. It’s amazing, no gloves required!

No worries if you run your fingers through your hair, your skins or anyone else’s you touch, or if you just forgot something, it’s all natural, so it’s all good.

It’s very easy, and so key for summer hands between gardening, outdoor sports and living, sand, children, all kinds of work and play outside, can ravage your hands. Instantly, sunburn (which I don’t really get, but if you get one it works wonders), dry skin, and making sure all that dirt and fun is off your hands and washing with all sorts of soaps wherever the day takes you, this nighttime treatment will have you waking up to hands that are soft, supple and I’m not exaggerating, completely glowing! For the first few hours of the day, no matter how bad the soap is you are using on your hands on the fly, water still beads off, and it acts as a completely non-sticky, non-greasy, glowing barrier to the elements and environmental damage or just anything life throws your way.

Thank you Josie Maran for this wonderful product line, this summer, for the first time in years, I will be glowing, and I won’t be alone in doing it! 😀

  23. Summer Essentials: lots of water and fresh fruits & veggies (beauty comes from the inside); argan oil on my heels (slather it on before bed, put on cotton socks, wake up, no more cracked heals) and the ends of my curly (frizzy) hair – just an all around miracle product; sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen and a big hat. Simple simple simple.

  24. Get lots of exercise outdoors! We have about 3 months of nice, warm weather here in Illinois, and everyone seems to take advantage of those three short months! Running, hiking, kayaking, playing with our dogs at the dog park, it all makes you sweat which flushes toxins from your body, and the increased oxygen brings a healthy flush to the cheeks. Not to mention a fit, toned body. Adequate sleep, nutritious vegan food, and plenty of exercise are the foundations for happiness and beauty. Everything else, lipstick, mascara, hair products, etc. are just enhancers.

  25. A couple of must have Josie products I have during the summer are: the lavender and rose mists; the 40 spf moisturizer; the argan sun protection; and the bronzing oil. I keep the mists in the fridge (or the cooler when out at the beach) to cool and calm myself and the kids. The moisturizer is a must have for everyone. I’ve become very conscious about sun protection as I’ve gotten older so not be pasty white but still have sun protection ALL the time, I mix the bronzing oil with the body protection and the face moisturizer so I can still have color but still be protected. Add her illuminizer as well for extra glow power. We need to remember not to just protect our face but any exposed skin. As for Josie’s argan oil, I use it year round so it wouldn’t just be a summer tip. However, try slathering the peels from the summer fruits you eat (ie. mango, watermelon, pineapple etc) – fruit side on skin, of course) on your face, sit (the fruit acids will work wonders), rinse, and moisturize with argan oil after.

  26. Josie, what can I say? Love everything, just purchased the Bronzing Kit! Tan me & Moisturize me, but don’t take away my Josie!!!! Love the Argan Cleansing wipes & cleanser. Who know you could use ALL this oil and not be OILY! Lip treatments helped me thru winter, now gives me a summer glow. Did I mention I love Josies Argan Oil Products?

  27. P.S. If you don’t want to trash your hair for the summer and you have just a few grays, if you are any shade of brunette, any shade, even dark blonde might work, use Argan Bronzing Oil on your hair, if you’re like me you’re not washing your hair every day anyway (it’s not good for you or the environment if you don’t have to) and you’ll be treating your hair, making it actually healthier, keep sun scalp issues at bay, and you from having to dye your hair with any (from the best to the worst) kinds of hair dye 😀 Also saves you money, less trips to the salon, and if you dye your hair at home with anything, you don’t even have to worry about that either, at any ‘age’ your hair can look fabulous and be healthy!

  28. Exfoliate.. I also started dry brushing my skin & my skin feels so soft. I just started using organic virgin coconut oil as a moisturizer and Josie’s argon oil on my face and hands. I love it I was afraid that I would break out from oil but it absorbs right into the skin & it feels so soft.. I also rub it on my eyelashes and eyebrows hoping it will help keep them moisturized and will grow.

  35. After spending almost every summer day and sometimes many evenings with my three boys at ball parks for baseball games and touraments or spending the day at the pool, my skin needs some TLC. My summer trick is to message argan oil all over my boday-from my head to my toes The next morning, my skin and hair feels so soft and refreshed. The best five minute pampering-ever.

  37. My secret is… coconut oil, coconut oil, and more coconut oil! I love to eat it in smoothies or stir into my morning coffee for a boost of healthy fat. I use it on my hair as a leave-in conditioner/styling product that helps make my hair soft, shiny, and frizz-free; also make my own “beach spray” for hair with coconut oil, water, and sea salt! I use it as a moisturizer on my skin in liquid form. In solid form (chill if needed) you can use it like shaving foam!

  38. My summer beauty trick is after surfing (which I do almost daily), I slather my hair with conditioner, then rinse with a jug of water before I towel change to go to work, and let my hair air dry. This is my morning shower. I get beachy hair without the dryness or needing to add extra product, and use only a half gallon of water.

  39. I use Josie argan oil everywhere on my body. From my nails to toes to hair and legs and everywhere in between!
It nourishes my skin and hair and keeps it vibrant. I try very hard to live a healthy life but until I started using Josie products, I had difficulty getting my skin and hair to look as good as the rest of my body felt. Infant thank Josie enough for making these wonderful products!

  40. My long time beauty secret for hydration and healing has been Aloette’s Nutri Hydrating Mist – I call it miracle mist! Then May of this summer my cousin introduced me to Josie Maran Argan Oil and that quickly became a part of my everyday skin care! Summer or any season these two products are my favorite and are definite must shares! For my summer break outs I use “zap” by Saje.

  41. I’ve got the protect my skin thing down, however I’ve found that recently I haven’t been protecting my hair as well. Before heading out to the beach or pool, I skip washing altogether (it’s just going to get wet and sweaty anyway). Instead of argan oil, I hit my hair with coconut oil, a natural sunblock. As my hair always ends up in a ponytail on a hot day, I pull it back before I leave the house. But I use the time to twist, twist, twist everything back into a bohemian meets Heidi sort of thing which is held together with bobby pins. The twisting further blocks the sun and also creates these big waves when undone- super easy with guaranteed compliments.

  42. I use manuka honey in copious amounts during the summertime! Taking it with my breakfast kick-starts the day, and I infuse cups of tea with it and later drink it chilled. It’s really helped with general health and wellbeing. Best of all is applying a light layer of it as a face mask–it really helps with any oiliness, congestion, breakouts or general havoc on my skin caused from the hot and dry weather. Manuka honey is a great multi-tasker and I’ll be singing it’s praises all the days of my life!

  43. In the summer, my cystic acne really acts up. Believe it or not, Jose Maran Argon Oil was the solution to my problem. After much money and time at the dermatologist, I realized the more I tried to dry my face out the more oil my skin produced. I am 36, and for the first time in my life, I feel comfortable in my own skin….makeup less! I can’t say enough about this product. The summer sun, sweat and bacteria are in full force, but after cleansing with Josie Maron Argon Oil Cleanser at night and Argon Oil in the am, my skin is FINALLY balanced. I urge those of you with over excited oil producing skin to take the road less traveled and put this oil on you face!! My skin is acne free and beautiful!

  44. I love everything of Josie’s…..I expecially love the body butters. She is right when she says you have give yourself 20 minutes to yourself and just enjoy using the body butter. I have a stressful job sometimes and this helps using the body butter. It makes my skin so soft and glowing and I just love how all of them smell and my favorite of course is Vanilla Bean. Keep those new body butters coming Josie.
