Bottled Up: What’s In A Bottle of Pressed Juicery Green Juice + A Juicy Giveaway!

As we welcome a brand new year we’re all looking for ways to take life to the next level. One of the easiest ways to provide a major upgrade to your health this year is by resolving to get more greens! Throughout Pressed Juicery headquarters and at Chalkboard shoots and meetings all over town, hardly a moment goes by that one of us is not popping a bottle of Greens juice. But even within our own team we’re resolving to drink more Greens juice this year!

Here’s why: Pressed Juicery Greens 1, Greens 2, Greens 3 and Greens 4 are created on a hydraulic press: No other juicing method squeezes more nutrition and juice out of fresh produce than these presses. Each bottle of Greens contains pound after pound of green vegetables – more greens than any salad we could hope to toss in one day. Plus, our Greens juices contain a blend of the most nutritious green, leafy veggies you can find on earth. In just one bottle you’re getting the full range of nutrition from the world’s most nutritious green superfoods:
  • KALE:

Kale is a rare vegetable in the sense that you can obtain calcium from kale – that key mineral also found in milk! It is also promoted for its vitamin C and vitamin A content. Kale is known for its lutein content, and is one of the best sources of beta-carotene—a pro-vitamin A source.

  • Romaine:

Don't confuse romaine lettuce with iceberg lettuce! Romaine is a highly nutritious salad green and is known to be a great source of vitamins A, B, and C, as well as minerals manganese and chromium.

  • Spinach:

The benefits of spinach:, a leafy green, include great sources of vitamin K, vitamin A, magnesium, and iron. This popular vegetable includes several important phytochemicals, including lutein. Surprisingly, spinach also contains a good amount of protein.

  • Cucumber:

Cucumber has significant water content and aids in kidney, liver, and pancreatic function. Highly cleansing and hydrating.

  • Parsley:

Parsley is a great source of pro-vitamin A beta carotene, potassium, vitamin C and chlorophyll. Also rich in antioxidants and essential oils.

  • Watercress:

Watercress is one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can put in your body. Known for its calcium, iron, and potassium content, watercress ranks high with nutrition professionals everywhere.

  • Beets:

Beets are cell-builders and renew the body with  key minerals. Combined with carrots, beets are a great aid in kidney and liver function.

  • Carrots:

An excellent source of antioxidants from beta-carotene, carrots play an outstanding role in optimal health and provide major immune support.

  • Apple:

Apples provide antioxidant vitamin C and a good dose of soluble fiber. They are also a great way to lightly sweeten an otherwise tart juice. Apples are one of the few fruits that can be well-digested with other vegetables in juice blends.

  • Lemon:

Lemons are an incredible fruit. A natural acidifier, lemons have an incredible effect on the stomach, stimulating the digestive system and providing a healthy shift you can feel. Lemons are rich in antioxidants and essential oils that are powerful aids to the body. We recommend adding lemon to almost everything!

  • Ginger:

This super root, with its refreshing flavor, has many benefits including aiding in digestion, soothing the stomach and boosting circulation. Highly anti-inflammatory.

  1. Haha I like the idea of drinking ‘greener’! I’m trying to build up with eating/ drinking healthier to keep my body and mind in good condition. Since a week I’m drinking half a glass of beetroot juice every morning. Not very tastefull but I’m dealing with it haha. I must say I feel a little bit fitter after that.
I would love to try out the Pressed Juicery Greens Kit. But how do you actually join the contest? I think the little bottle in the picture looks very cute btw!

    Love,

  10. After hearing really only the best from friends and bloggers about their experiences with this cleanse, I have been wanting to do this for a very long time. There really is no better time then the beginning of a new year after a too long, little control (on my part) holiday season. Im feeling horribly sluggish, congested and want to be renewed again. I would love to tell everybody about my new cleansing adventure with program. Thank you!

I am so much more conscious of the foods I eat and it really impacts my thoughts about health and nutrition in a positive way. I drink green because it’s a delicious and effective way to start my day. It’s helped me break my diet coke addiction and I’d like to think it’s made my skin a bit more gradient. I’ll raise a glass to beauty in a bottle anytime!

  26. I grew up with lots of leafy greens in my salads (thank you, mom!), so I have always loved eating greens. Is there anything better? Being able to drink more greens than I could ever eat! I’m in my final year of my PhD dissertation (fingers crossed!), and staying mentally focused for long stretches of time is crucial. I love how green juices help me stay energized and alert all day long while reading and writing (especially in these winter months, when eating lots of greens can be challenging)– as well as making my body alkaline and flexible for bikram yoga breaks when I’m not speeding my way to finishing this dissertation!

I am slowly converting those around me and it brings me joy to share all of the green juice knowledge I have acquired over the past year, including my love of Pressed Juicery!

  30. I really want to try this cleanse. My problem is that I am afraid to spend a ton of money on a product, and it doesn’t work. So a free trial would be great, and if it works, I wouldn’t mind handing over the dough because it’s all about being natural, and that’s worth paying for because it’s an investment in health. I work out all the time, and I eat healthy, and I see progress weekly. I think cleansing on a regular basis would REALLY help me with my goals.

  31. When I am well, I have more to share with others. I believe this is our purpose in life, to take care of ourselves so that we can be of service to others. Therefore, I believe that it is important that I make green juice a part of my life in addition to all of the other shifts that are happening in my life now, so that I will not only feel healthier and happier overall, but I will also be able to spread this positive energy that comes from feeling happier and healthier to all those I come into contact with, so that I can be of service.

  35. I am stuck. I am a 39 year old full time student and mother of two. I am caught up in a series of bad habits and poor health choices. I feel stagnant. My body is sluggish, my skin is tired, and my thoughts are self-deprecating. I need a jump. A shake, a rattle. I need to wake up in the morning and do something for myself. One healthy choice to start my day. One sip of juice to heal my body. One glass of green that will focus my attention to my health, to positive thoughts, and a strong new beginning to my life. I need a glass of leafy greens and gorgeous vegetables to awaken me to my beautiful life and remind me daily of my connection to our planet.

My doctor recommended I go on a juice cleanse to jump start myself into an anti-inflammatory diet, Which the one time I did it without a cleanse, helped my pain more than anything else. I am on a limited income but this cleanse would help me out in ways that would not only jump start my health and body, but my soul and regenerate my spirit.

My story is long…..however, I truly believe in knowledge and constantly educating myself. This process in my young adulthood has helped me become a healthier, happier, spiritual me! Now I am a practicing vegan who loves to spin, run, hike and do bikrham yoga. I love to shop at the farmers market where I buy my fruits and veggies to make my homemade juices, and I love to read books and blogs like The Chalkboard as I continue this never ending journey of learning about what is out there and what is good for me and my family. Healthy mind healthy body. I wish pressed juicery would open a store around South Redondo Beach or Manhattan Beach area. We need you down here in the South Bay! I cannot wait to try your juices one day. I’m eager to try your cleanse when spring arrives! I learn so much from your blog….I LOVE it!!!Continue doing such great work! I love filling my body with nutrients that are delicious and healthy. The juices are healing, they make me feel filled with energy, they make my skin bright and clear, and they are the BEST addiction anyone could have. I have introduced pressed juice to my boyfriend, my family, my coworkers, and my friends – everyone is a fan!

There are certain people who cannot understand paying for fresh pressed juice, and yes it is expensive, but if people are willing to shell out money at a bar for an over-priced cocktail then why not spend some or all of that on Fresh Pressed Juice. It is way better for you, and it is an investment in health. I am recuperating from Surgery, and all I want is more and more juice.

Thank you for bringing Pressed Juice to my life, the three of you have done an amazing job!

  79. I really want to save up for a juicer (and vitamix!!!) and make a daily morning organic green juice. I am a keen vegetable gardener, with surplus supply of kale, spinach, beets, parsley & carrots. I am 20 and living at home whilst studying science and my family tries to buy all local, organic produce and we go through a big box of fresh apples so quickly! I believe there are many benefits in drinking green juice, not only physical, but mentally beginning a great habit to improve well-being & health.

  81. I would love to try the Green’s Kit! I have had the Greens 1 this past week because I felt like I wanted to start off my new year right: green.

I mean this by recycling, getting my friends and family to use recyclable grocery bags, eat more greens (meaning I would like to start incorporating kale, brussel sprouts, spinach, etc instead of my go to green: broccoli).

Also, I would like to encourage my friends to go green by participating in meatless monday and having a bottle or two (or three or four) of pressed juicery once in awhile (if only we could everyday, in my dreams!).

Supporting my local farmers market as well.

All these things to me are green and honestly if the saying goes: You are what you Eat.
Then I want to put good in to get good out! To a fresh start, cheers!

Whenever I pop in to the West Hollywood location, I usually get the greens 2 or 3. So delicious! Thanks, Pressed Juicery, for making it easier to get my daily fix of greens!

  87. i started drinking green for my skin after i was diagnosed with rosacea & couldn’t bear the thought of taking an antibiotic everyday, which is what the dermatologist wanted me to do. instead i found a naturopath & after several months of working with him and seeing progress, i decided to buy a juicer to see if it could also help get my skin back to the way it was before. i am thrilled that both have helped more than i could have imagined! and my skin isn’t only back to normal – it’s better than ever before! i remember the 1st few days i started drinking green juices, i could literally see my skin changing within 1-2 hours. redness went away, the texture changed – it still amazes me. now i also drink green because it makes my body feel amazing!!
thanks for the chance to win your package!

  88. I have had a rough few years dealing with many food allergies & digestive issues. I had to give up wheat, eggs & dairy. Along the way I have learned drinking green makes me feel amazing, now I just need a reason to stick with it & keep it up!

  89. love the green drinks, it is what i need to get all my veggies in, because let’s face it, i have no problem eating all of my fruits! a new year is always a great moment to start fresh and this year is no exception. i have recently been introduced to eating clean and its benefits, and i’m trying to make 2013 a clean year. i do need some extra help to reset my tastebuds (and just plain get rid of my sugar addiction).

I want to try a cleanse to kick start my healthy eating goal. I want to transition my meals to 50% raw. Since I came home from college, my eating habits have gone down hill very quickly, and living at home doesn’t help.

I kicked off the new year with a Cleanse that included green juices a day, green smoothies, green drinks made from green powder, tons of alkaline water and a nice tall glass of chlorophyll water in the morning. I did it for my health, but I also did it for my state of mind. This Cleanse was my way of leaving behind the things from the old year that I no longer need or that did not serve me well. This is a year of change for me and, as a new entrepreneur, I’ll need all the clarity and energy I can get. My green juice cleanse was so energizing that the hubby and I have decided to make green juice part of our daily routine. Drink green to your health!

I don’t always have time to do either of those, so when someone does it for me it’s quite a blessing. Keeping it vegan is the way to go everyday – I would never go back!

  191. I so, SO need to start drinking green….something has been so off with me physically these past couple of years. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, but the thyroid medication is just not solving the myriad problems I’m experiencing with my weight, energy and general sense of well-being. I’ve tried modifying my diet – increasing fruits & veggies, cutting out gluten, but am not noticing any real effect. Pressed Juicery green juices might be just the liquid miracle I need!!!

  192. I have never tried drinking green before but I feel 2013 is the year to try something new. I always see magazines emphasizing juicing but need a little guidance on this. I am very picky with what I eat {read vegetables} and would love to dry the different green juices in the giveaway.

  193. Because…I have to. I have always had a huge interest in healthy eating and green juicing but, now it has become a necessity. I was always thin and healthy and had a garden the size of a football field growing up…and then, life happened. I gained weight in college and after and then while pregnant with my son, who will be 2 in May. I am almost 6 feet tall and I weigh around 270 pounds. The height can only stretch that out so much. That’s not the way it’s supposed to be. Ten years ago I weighed 155 pounds. I have to reset myself. I’m a single mom, in every sense of the word. So, there is no family at all to help and I just don’t have time to do what’s right by ME. I lost both of my parents when they were young (to cancer) and I want to make sure to do my best to stay around as long as I can. He loves healthy food and drinks and I know he would enjoy having them in the house and for outings. I just need my health and energy and mental clarity to be the best that I can, right here, right now. I would love to start incorporating one a day and build up to a fast. I can’t afford the juicer that I want for greens now and the juices in the grocery store or corner stores near me are anything BUT natural. I know this all comes off a little “Lifetime Movie”-ish but it’s true. I think this could be the jumpstart I need! Thanks. 🙂 <3

I am thinking that this world is catching on to the basics taking it back to the old school I keep hearing way too many success stories outweighing the negatives regarding juicing… I feel it is time for me to take a new route in the new year to strive to live longer and have the natural energy instead of the powershots of some of the energy drinks! Indeed I am ready become more focused and organized in my life and I keep hearing that this is the key to vitality and strength.. Again I am ready… to move forward

  201. I’ve been a vegetarian for years, but really, I think more like a faux-vegetarian: relying heavily on the processed, frozen, & restaurant items to get me through. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease four years ago, and though in my early thirties, I’ve become house bound, disabled, and riddled with pain.
Late last year I made a commitment to myself; to behave in the true vegetarian spirit: eating more natural, fresh produce even if that’s where all my energy goes…healing starts from within. And by that, I feel it is what i put into my body. My parents buy my fruits and veggies (thank goodness for them!), blend away. I know this is a great start.
Your Greens juices- that magic nutritional bottle would help get me the extra *ooomph* to activate my snail’s pace immune system and kick it into high drive. I KNOW green foods are healing. My doctors may not prescribe or talk about it, but I’m all in. And I’m here to make a change. Send magical Green juice bottles my way and watch the magic happen! Heck, if not for me, for my parents. They can use the super foods with all the errands they have to do for me 🙂 great stuff! Be green, be happy, and never give up hope!

  203. Winning this giveaway would be such a blessing; I know everyone that’s responded feels the same way. I’ve never entered for anything like this, to be honest I’ve never even thought to till now. I think it’s a really beautiful thing that so many people are looking to get healthy and bring vitality back to their lives, as evident in these many posts. I guess in that sense my reasons are not unique from anyone else who has written in. I’m hurting physically, recovering emotionally from a very challenging time and I could use some help in the form of liquid sunshine. I look in the mirror and I see the effects the severe stress has had on me, I walk around (which after reading many of people’s comments reminds me how blessed I am to be able to do) and I feel so weighed down. At another time in my life the way I look, well it never would have gotten to this point, and the way I feel would have sent me into battle. Now, I accept that I have not taken care of this instrument and that I’ve allowed a lot of hurt take make a home in my cells. I feel disappointed in myself but this new sense of ownership I feel, well, it’s empowering. I guess I’m interested in this giveaway as a helping hand; to make it a little easier to show myself compassion and kindness in these beginning stages of this new relationship with my body.
Wow, didn’t think I’d write this much. Thanks so much for reading.

    Best to everyone,

  206. Having more juiced greens in my life is a way of staying committed to pursuing innovative and enticing additions to my lifestyle.Through trying new things like watercress and chlorophyll , it constantly feels as though everyday is truly a chance to experience something enriching that will only benefit me in the long run. Plus drinking green is such honest way to start a conversation ( in REAL life) with someone if they inquire anything about it what it IS your drinking. It seems so rare now for individuals to be socially approachable, so couldn’t ask for a better personal segue into meeting new people!

  213. My health is at an all time low. I’ve taken on a second job this year and recently realized that 14+ hours a day at a desk, high stress levels, little sleep and a poor diet at times have taken the ultimate toll on my body. My doctor has given me 6 months to clean up my act before they put me on medication. I’m determined to let food/juice be my medicine and cure. I’ve started juicing at home, but with my crazy schedule have found it difficult at times when I’m in a hurry, especially the clean up! I’ve been extremely interested in trying Pressed Juicery, but haven’t had it in my budget. I would love the chance to try this amazing product and hopefully turn my health around in the long run with green juice! Luckily I love the taste!

Greens adds to life’s already sweet sweetness and brings my mind, body and soul back to balance. Green reminds me what life is about: about filling up on the good stuff, living for today’s gifts, and giving back with all the vitality you have graciously received. Green ultimately stands for much more than the color green- it stands for what it means to live big! “You are everything you have ever done to yourself”! So do yourself some greens! I decided to start with juicing and bought a Breville juicer a couple months ago but laziness has kept me from using it. I’m always so tired (physically and mentally) that I can’t bring myself to put forth the effort. It’s an ugly pattern: crappy food makes you tired and lazy and all you want to do is eat more of the same easy, crappy food which makes you tired and lazy, etc… I believe that winning the Pressed Juicery kit will give me the boost of energy that I need to start taking better care of myself and break the old cycle of poor choices that I have been on for many years. Thanks!

  243. I like to drink it green b/c it keeps me feeling clean, focused, and detoxified in an environment in which one can easily make bad choices. I’m a full time undergrad student and its easy to fall off the nutritional bandwagon. Keeping purified – by eating healthy and keeping up a bikram yoga regimen is how I stay grounded both emotionally and physically. My parents always taught me that my body is like a car; if I have the ability why not put the supreme option in? I know I run better when I keep to a green lifestyle and I’m going to continue living that way for as long as I can – which means for as long as I can touch my toes and drink my juices through a straw! 🙂

  249. 2013 This is a turn around year for me….against all odds I have began to change my life (at the age of 57). Divorced, broke and very depressed, I have begun to pull myself up from the ashes to a new and healthy life. Many of lifes challenges can be beyond our control, but one thing we can definitely control is what we do to our bodies…I started with a mastercleanse for 10 days. Lost weight and gained strength!! Now I am trying to juice and eat raw and vegan for an extended amount of time. I already feel so much better mentally and physically. Next week school starts again for me…I have returned to gain an AA degree and become a family therapist. I need to keep up my stamina and a lighter outlook on life, so what better way than a real juice cleanse!!! I hope you will consider me in this winning giveaway. I already know a couple people that I will bring along with me. My 30 yr. old daughter, who had her gallbladder removed last Oct. and has since become a juicer and vegan. She is in Med School currently and needs all the help I can give. And a friend that really needs to change her eating choices and what better way to begin than with a juice cleanse!!!

  250. 2013 Is the year for health for me as well. I am the 30 year old medical student whose gallbladder was removed in October. After my gallbladder was removed I developed idiopathic autoimmune pancreatis and hepatitis and had to have another exploratory surgery as my liver wasnt producing bile that could break down animal products. Now I am a vegan and I have always wanted to juice cleanse. My mom, Lisa is also in school for family theraphy. She is also in need of a juice cleanse as she is 57 years old and has enjoyed a life of eating as she pleases, albeit on the medeteranian side of health. She now wants to clean out her system so that she can continue to lie a long and prosperous life as a family therapist. My friend Oscar is 38 years old. He is the MC for the group Krooked Trees that is going on tour with 311. He watched the documentary, Fat, Sick and Nearly dead and decided to take a healthy stand for 2013. All 3 of us are in close proximity of each other so we can definitely participate in eachothers juice cleanse.

  265. I recently tore my ACL and had surgery three weeks ago. It is very swollen still and feels bad. I hate using prescription pills but I did for the pain and they really messed up my digestive system. I would like to try using a juice cleanse to help aid in my healing and also to help the mess made by the nasty pain pills.

There is no wrong reason to drinking GREEN! 🙂

  266. I am new to juicing. I have been overloading on educating myself with ingredients and nutritional value, etc..
i have looked into so many different cleanses, etc and cant afford to try just anything, if anything at all. I eat fairly well, but have been so intrigued with these green juices and have started following Pressed Juicery/Mag and reading article after article daily for the past month. I can never get to a Farmers Market or location with my work schedules and even if i manage, could probably only afford one or 2 🙁 I would love love love to be able to finally try the juices and consider working double time to invest in them!

  269. I have been spreading the news of Green shakes to just about anyone I meet, (2 months now) especially if they are trying to lose weight, change their being, and so on. My testimony…. being in my late 50s my skin has taken a better turn to glowing and to the point of looking great. I am not boasting; overall I feel more energetic. I don’t think coffee is bad for you but if I start my day with the shake in usually forget to drink a cup o joe. My mouth, my breath, my digestion, everything has been renewed. I would love to win these –thanks for the chance.

  271. Would love to start drinking pressed juice instead of coffee (which has absolutely nothing healthy in it) in the morning. I may be addicted to coffee though! It seems like such a great way to start your day and motivate you to stay healthy:) Thanks for the breakdown of what ingredients you use and why they are important. I have to admit I was one of the people who thought romaine had the same nutritional value as iceburg. Thanks again!

  282. I want to start a juicing ritual (esp. green juice) as soon as I can afford a good juicer! In the past I have been slightly inconsistent but I want to start because perfect health comes from the inside out, NOT the outside in! My energy is lifted, my skin is glowing, my presence is radiating when I drink superfood like green juice. Most importantly, I want to start juicing because I know it is teeming with nutrients and vitamins! Who doesn’t want that in their system?! I do. 😉

  283. I drink it green for SO MANY reasons: 1. part of me feels really cool and smug when I drink a green juice, like “look at me, I’m healthy!”
    2. You just can’t get enough greens into your system
    3. I really do like the taste!
    4. Innumerable benefits of green veggies
    5. I drink on an empty stomach and IMMEDIATELY feel a tingling sensation — it’s like the energy zooms right through me!
    6. I like to freak out the non-juicers — GREEN juice??!!?
    7. I believe in the mind-body connection and I feel really great drinking it and therefore, my body reflects that back!
    8. Green is the new black…didn’t ya hear?
    9. I’m addicted. I crave it. My body wants it.
    10. It’s so much better than coffee!

  284. I finally broke down and purchased the 3 day cleanse, I sent him the info 1st & asked him if we could do this cleanse for 3 days he said no. So I bought it anyways and hid it in the fridge , which is the only major appliance I have in the kitchen (remodel nightmare since April 2013) no counters no sink nothing but fridge & micro, slow cooker, bbq. On day 2 of cleanse &loving it so refreshing. This would be nice to share with my husband. 🙂

  288. I want to do a Green Cleanse because I have been having constant problems with my Crohns Disorder, have food allergies which I have tried elimination diets for and cannot get tested by doctors here in NE Vermont since the facilities don’t exist nearby. I have trouble sleeping and have tried to eliminate any toxins in my life in every way, i.e. shampoo, soaps, inorganic fruits/vegetables in my smoothies. I have been using hemp protein powder since I have a severe allergy to milk products and have been trying supplements to help with my problems. I drink water that I know is the safest I can get, NOT tap water and still cannot seem to get control of the Crohns which seems to be the main cause, I believe, of some of the other problems due ot the overactive immune system of Crohns, especially during flareups.
I feel that doing a cleanse, and continuing with a juice fast as well as increasing my probiotic/prebiotic supplements and detox fiber will help me to get a grip on the problem so that I can continue to use my diet and supplements to stay OFF drugs and medications that the doctors seem to insist I have to take to keep my Crohns under control. I don’t agree. I will be doing a juice fast, even if I don’t win the contest but I think starting with this would be a great way to begin my juice fast and my New Year.
Thank you so much for offering such a wonderful opportunity.
No matter who wins they will be very lucky to have an opportunity like this to get their health back or to keep it going as well as they already do.
    Thank you,
    Anne

  291. Nothing like a fresh, zippy glass of green juice! I watched the movie ‘Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead’
on Netflix which really motivated me to start juicing. I loved it, and I started to juice everyday and reap
the benefits. However, I just moved to L.A and I’m not exactly in the position to buy a new juicer right now
so I’ve been meaning to try out the Pressed Juicery and see if they can whip up a juice as good as mine. 😉

  295. Juicing is apart of our families life. I am always trying to encourage my extended family to juice as well, especially with them having health issues. I am always on the look out for a tasty healthy juice company to order some of our juices from and keep on hand for the kids to grab after school or even grab on a rush to the school bus. Both my husband and myself do a juice cleanse at least 4 times a year and order our juices for that event. Excited to be apart of this contest. Fingers crossed.
