V Beaute Founder Julie Macklowe

As a celebrated regular on the New York fashion circuit, Julie Macklowe certainly has access to the  best the beauty world has to offer. But last year, Macklowe decided to translate her passion for all things beautiful into a sleek new skincare line, vbeaute.  Working with a Swiss skin treatment lab to select complex botanicals like stem cells from alpine rose, Julie created an effective line of paraben and fragrance free products we love!

With an adorable young daughter and booming new business, we don’t know how she finds the time, but we asked Julie to share a glimpse of what her busy life is like in the AM…

  • First thing I do when I wake up is...

I wake up when my daughter, Zoe, does, which is usually pretty early, about 6. I get to spend some time with my daughter and then start on emails.

  • My go-to breakfast is...

I’m not usually a breakfast person. Coffee is usually breakfast enough!

  • I Can't Start My Mornings Without...

vbeaute! It's my daily routine and it's so simple. I cleanse with Evidence Eraser or exfoliate with Rub Off, brighten my skin with  Lighten Up and moisturize with Undercover Agent. I never leave the house without dabbing on a little Eye Never and a swipe of Lip Spread for some color. I’m ready to go for the day and it only takes a few minutes.

  • I begin work around...

I never stop! It’s a 24/7 job when you start your own company. vbeauté is always on my mind.

  • I get the creative juices flowing by..

Listening to great music and doing yoga. Everything depends on my mood. My music ranges from Lee Riley meditation music to jazz to DJ AM playlists. I also love taking a spin on my new eliptigo.

  • Daily uniform...

I don’t really have a daily uniform. I’m adventurous with my clothes and like to try new things. I do love Rick Owens tees though. They go with everything!

  • Websites I Hit Up First...

Vogue.com, WSJ.com, and the sites for the New York Times and the New York Post.

  • Lunch is...

At noon. Usually a salad with protein like chicken or steak on it.
