If you build a stylish cafe that serves avocado toast in Venice, they will come.

It might surprise you to hear that the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles could use a new cafe, but it’s true. Great White opened it’s doors just last month and – with it’s broken-in style and healthy-ish menu – it feels like a natural part of the food scene here already. Here’s why we’re loving the fresh new space and it’s modern menu…

What We Ate: Just a stone’s throw from the beach and Venice’s most iconic intersection, Great White is situated next to a local surf shop with seating that pours out onto the sidewalk. We sat inside the comfy, white-washed space recently and enjoyed a green protein smoothie, their spicy avocado toast (ordered with the gluten-free bread option), and a gorgeous blue-green smoothie bowl made with E3Live.

Why We Ate It: Great White’s menu is doubled in size by their beverage offerings. They offer everything one could ever want to drink including smoothies, flat whites (the owners are Aussies), and kombucha on tap. The casual indoor-outdoor atmosphere and gorgeous styling provides us with everything we’re looking for on a Venice afternoon: style, snacks and a sense of community belonging.

Why You Need It: Great White’s location on Windward and Pacific just off the beach makes it the perfect meeting spot for fitnessy friend dates: meet up for a coffee and a walk or a smoothie and a beach run.
