The Autumn Equinox: 9 Must-Haves For A Change In Season

Fall begins this week, September 23rd with the autumn equinox. We love to focus on all things seasonal to help ground our diet – and just about everything else! This week, we’re focusing inward and preparing to transition into the cooler, calmer, and most importantly, more reflective months of the year. Holistic lifestyle pro Lacy Phillips of Free + Native Journal is sharing a few of her sweet and highly recommended essentials to enjoy during the Autumnal months…

As we drift from the relaxed casual energy of summer into the deeply introspective season of Autumn, it is a time where we honor this season that governs organization, setting limits, protecting boundaries and swapping out cooler clothes with slightly warmer ones. Fall equinox signals the days becoming shorter and brighter colored harvest treasures such as pumpkins, pomegranates and persimmons for us to enjoy into the winter.

Energetically, in Chinese medicine, Autumn is associated with the lungs, which deeper signifies “letting go.” So this is a very mindful time to let go of anything we might be holding onto that isn’t serving us anymore. Thus making room for new experience, jobs, relationships – with self and others – or plans that will stretch us and help us to grow.

Here are a few of the essential items I will be eating, wearing and otherwise enjoying throughout this introspective and wonderful threshold:

Evan Healy Pomegranate Serum
Something about the perfect compatibility between pomegranate and sea buckthorn oil have made my face hydrated and silk-esque. It really is my newest obsession. And how season worthy!
