Put on your holiday party face! This nourishing mask recipe by the team at Dr. Alkaitis is absolutely incredible for the skin. Providing damaged or compromised skin with a powerhouse infusion of nutrients, minerals and nourishment, lay this one on thick before hitting the party circuit.

The Universal Mask from Dr. Alkaitis is used as this recipe’s base. Dr. Alkaitis’ uber-pure line of skin care is a must with models and more than a handful of celebrities who make it their business to look good, but don’t want to wear their skin out. Every single product in this brand’s line is power-packed, but gentle enough for even the most over-worked skin. The Universal Mask is packed with antioxidants, vitamins and chlorophyll that will support healing and rejuvenation at the cellular level. Chlorophyll is a natural blood purifier and is often called the the ‘blood’ of plant life. With active enzymes, anti-inflammatory effects and alkalizing effects for the skin, this mask works wonders – like a fresh veggie juice for the face!

Go big with the Universal Mask recipe below or, if you don’t have any Dr. Alkaits of your own, use the honey and goat milk alone – and enter to win our Dr. Alkaitis giveaway! Sign up for the weekly Chalkboard newsletter to be entered to win! The winner will receive one Universal Mask, one Travel Kit & Eye Make-Up Remover.

Dr. Alkaitis’ Honey + Goat Milk Power Facial

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of Universal Mask
  • 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey
  • 1 tablespoon of organic goat milk yogurt
  • 1-2 drops of Nourishing Treatment Oil

Instructions:

Blend all well together in a small bowl and apply to your face, neck and décolleté. This mask may remain on skin up to 20 minutes and should not dry out. You can either take a shower – which will help keep the mask moist – or you can relax in the tub and tap warm water into your skin. After 20 minutes, rinse and blot your skin dry.

Goat milk yogurt and honey are both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. They will naturally and gently exfoliate the skin.  Both have been used for thousands of years in skin care products.  They are the perfect combination with this mask! It’s important that our masks don’t dry out. They need to be activated by an aqueous substance – not necessarily water, just anything that will benefit the skin, such as yogurt, kefir, green tea, fruit juice, etc. to allow for the nutrients to be absorbed into the skin.

This mask is 100% plant active.  No one ingredient is more important than the other.  Each needs the other to give the desired result. When you look at the entire ingredient list you will see every vegetable under the sun in there! Dr. Alkaitis is also very fond of the healing benefits of grasses.

Check out the ingredients in the Universal Mask : Organic Grass Juice Complex (Kamut Grass. Alfalfa, Oat Grass and Wheat Grass), Oat Buds, Sea Vegetable Complex (Chlorella, Dulse, Spirulina, Sea Palm and Sea Willow), Hemp Protein. Vegetable Complex (Carrots, Cabbage, Sweet Potato, Kale, Broccoli, Asparagus, Brussels Sprouts, Cucumber, Ginger, Onions, Cauliflower, Beets, Tomatoes and Parsley). Organic Seed Complex (Pumpkin, Sesame Amaranth Flax, Soy, Oats, Rye, Buckwheat, Millet*, Barley, Brown Rice, and Sunflower).

  3. I have tried the cleanser it’s amazing. I would definitely recommend it-especially for people struggling with bad skin. I love the philosophy that it is so raw you can eat it! Crossing my fingers, great prize!

  4. Sounds totally great! I haven’t tried the line, but I read the article here on Chalkboard quite a while back where Dr Alkaitis recommends eating only raw organic vegetables and juices for 3-4 days in order to improve skin, and it was one of the best pieces of skin care advice I have ever been lucky enough to recieve – no THE best. So much so that it prompted me to do the same every couple of months and even start juicing regularly. I’ve never had that kind of (almost) instant gratification from a product – but I would certainly love to try his!
