clean beauty

Fashion is one thing, beauty another. We may not be able to get our paws on Felicity Jones’ Gucci gown for next weekend, but her clean beauty routine and final look are ultimately accessible. Green celebrity makeup artist, Katey Denno is breaking down this Star Wars star’s prep and final look below…

Felicity Jones has cultivated a very specific look when it comes to beauty. She’s tried it all over the years (or should I say, she’s so graciously allowed makeup artists to try it all on her) – from matte fuchsia lips and bronzed cheekbones to false strips of lashes. However, she’s always known that, for her, the epitome of beauty and glamour lies in simplicity – in looking polished, with a bit of cool edginess, and not following trends willy nilly.

For this year’s Golden Globes, we knew that because of the color and embellishments of her Gucci gown, we wanted to keep her makeup simple and focus on perfect creamy glowing skin (but stay away from the intense shimmery highlighter effect that seems to be so popular these days), a soft smokey eye, and a soft pink lip to compliment – but not match exactly – the tone of the floor length pink tule. Here’s how to get this clean beauty look…

The Inspo: The multiple tones of soft pink paired with the black-embroidered edging of Felicity’s amazing Gucci gown inspired the makeup look in every way. I immediately knew I wanted her skin to glow, her eyes to smolder and her pale pink lips to pop.

The Face: I started by prepping her skin with the Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask from REN to ensure that all signs of skin fatigue would disappear. Next I pressed the Ultra hydrating and plumping, hyaluron-based serum into her skin to give it that intense glow I love. Around her eyes I massaged REN’s Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift, and finished by massaging on their Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream to seal in every bit of hydration. I kept the makeup on her face ultra sheer to let her natural skin texture shine through.

The Eyes: Around her eyes I swirled glimmering grey and black tones of creamy shadow and finished the look with multiple coats of very black mascara. Find a full breakdown of the products I used here.

The Pout: I prepped Felicity’s gorgeous pout by using Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask for serious hydration. I then showcased her lips with Bite Beauty’s Lychee Lush Lip Tint, et voila!
