Traveling gives us a chance to break routine and take on a different perspective. For practical purposes, we trim down our admittedly elaborate skincare and beauty routines to the essentials. As self-proclaimed green product hoarders, we find it fascinating to see what makes the final cut – which are the products we actually can’t travel without?

We’ve interviewed many the beauty lover in our Green Goddess Guide series and have asked them all to reveal the travel beauty products they consider must-haves. From jet-lag alleviating essential oils to multi-tasking balms that do it all, these pro picks are the perfect guide for all your summer adventures…

Kirsten Kjaer Weis, founder of Kjaer Weis

My Bose headphones. When I travel I like to block out all noise and go inward. These allow me to fully relax.

Sasha Plavsic, founder of Ilia Beauty

Our new Cucumber Water Stick and my big Faliero Sarti scarf.

Melanie Simon, founder of ZIIP Beauty

My ZIIP device. It’s the only thing that can instantaneously make my face look younger, keep hormonal breakouts at bay and prevent my melasma from getting out of hand. It also keeps my pores taught and my skin looking rested and healthy.

Tara Macky of The Organic Life

My supplements. They solve everything from fatigue to a mood crisis and even balance out my tummy, my skin and my hormones throughout my travels. I could forget everything else in my bag as long as I had my supplements.

Marissa Waller, creator of BeauTeaBar

I am a horribly anxious traveler so I always bring my Travel Therapy (it’s a roll on aromatherapy treatment from La Bella Figura) and my little bag of lucky and protective crystals.

Jenna Levine of Linne Botanicals

REFRESH facial mist — it’s as revitalizing as the name suggests and contains ingredients known to hydrate, calm, regenerate and protect skin cells. I like to keep a travel-kit size bottle in my purse to restore my skin on-the-go and post-flight.

Britanie Faith of Beauty by Britanie

Crystals, Hope Gillerman Tension Remedy, Lotus Wei Radiant Energy Elixir, CV Skinlabs Rescue + Relief Spray, Maya Chia Beauty face oils, Province Apothecary Eczema Balm, Osmia Organics soaps.

Annie Atkinson, beauty blogger

A full mini-set of my entire skincare routine for en-flight beautification.

Fiona Stiles, Celebrity Makekup Artist

Ponaris Nasal Emollient and HollyBeth Organics Rose Geranium moisturizer. Ponaris keeps your nasal passages moisturized when you fly. Flying dries you out and then viruses can enter little fissures in your nasal cavities. Polaris is my savior on airplanes. The HollyBeth moisturizer is like a soft, solid face oil. I slather it on multiple times on the flight, rubbing the excess into my hands and cuticles. I blow through jars of this stuff, it’s amazing.

Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella

Coconut oil. It’s an all-around wonder for me. I use it for everything from makeup remover to after-sun care, a hair mask, a moisturizer and even mix it with brown sugar for an exfoliator!

Alexis Wolfer, founder of The Beauty Bean

Bucky Eye Shades, ear plugs, Fig+Yarrow Complexion Water, an all-purpose balm (recently I’ve been obsessed with Everbelle’s Ultimate Multi-Purpose Balm) and my 25-ounce Swell water bottle (because otherwise this girl spends a billion dollars on bottled water – and breaks Mother Earth’s heart!)

Sarah Gibson Tuttle, founder of Olive & June

  1. This article is cute, in the “aw this is what you consider necessary?” kind of way, given the fact $300 pair of headphones and $500 face gel worth combined is my paycheck every two weeks.

  2. Ilana,
I couldn’t agree more…. I’ve been disappointed so many times by this kind of propaganda and marketing, ie, Melanie Simon- owner of ZIIP. It doesn’t feel kind to convince each other that we need to many gadgets and potions.
